We started out with a 16' too but now our main transportation is a 17' aluminum bass boat, not a whole lot better. We left yesterday with a 100lb empty propane tank, the contents of the fridge, Riley, etc. and battled the wind all the way to 19 Mile Bay. I have full faith in my captain and we always wear our rain gear and life jacket in those conditions.

JTA, Let me know if you need to borrow the Whaler. I'd hate to see you get flipped by that wind!

JTA glad you made it south to the flatlands safe and sound. The temp here is a balmy 73......no wait, that's 37. Sandwich mountains have snow on them. Hey, at least we've got mountains!

Just checked out some of the webcams. Are the leaves really still that gorgeous? But at least tell me it's cold or wet or some other reason I wouldn't want to be there now!

A little past peak, but still beautiful. Temps were cool over the past week though, and weather was a bit more showery north of Concord than it was to the south. But it sure was peaceful! We're done for the season now, back in MA last eve, now listening to commercial leaf blowers and lawnmowers.

For those islanders still in the area on Monday 10/26, there will be a discussion at 7:15 PM at the Board of Selectmen's Meeting, regarding public camping on Cow Island.

If today's rain and wind don't rip too many leaves off the trees on Cow Island I predict that Sunday the 25th will be peak foliage on the island. Just letting everyone know it is raining fairly heavy and we are about 7 degrees away from snow. Ain't that special.
