I make this tea every time I have a cold or flu or anything just as bad.
Buy some fresh ginger root, a lemon, and some honey or have a good friend do this for you.
Make three slices of ginger and put it into the bottom of a cup -or- put the slices in a garlic press and squeeze the juice out. Then squeeze half or a third of a lemon (whatever your preference) into the cup and add some of the peel, then cover the lemon peel with honey and add boiling water and let sit. It's really good and makes you feel good too. Now rest. If you are hungry try to eat only soup. There is this soup in the Jewish foods section at some supermarkets called Mrs. Tabatchnik's. It comes in frozen hermetically sealed pouches and they are all very good. Don't eat anything with alot of salt in it (like Top Ramen) because this will make you dehydrated and feel worse. When making Chicken Noodle Soup add a couple of cloves of garlic while it's cooking. Garlic and ginger do so many good things for the body in some many good ways. If you have the flu (which is what colds sometimes turn into) don't read books but rather watch good video's (a good friend can go to the video store and get them for you). Reading gives me a headache when I have a cold.
Other than that get lots of sleep and call in sick!
