The stealthy circumvention of this would have been great fun. A coat hanger could open my parent's liquor closet and peanut butter on any wrapped present ensured the dog would tear it open prematurely. This would be just another toy to get around.

This doesn't seem like it would work on a computer. It seems
to interfere with the signal going to the TV: the coaxial
cable hooks up to this. Bet it has some trivial weakness
with the key-bypass or with tokens on strings.
