Ralph - Your weblog is really a neat way to attract potential employers. It really puts you a notch above the rest, especially in the technology arena. I truly enjoyed working for you for 4 years! Good Luck in your search. Let me know if I can help in any way...../christine

I am actually making good progress, networking to people in Health, Life Sciences, eGovernment, and Law. All of these types of firms are spending money in these difficult economic times and have extraordinary information management problems. I am taking the time during this period to also explore XML and its potential impact on information sharing and knoweldge sharing. Plus I am exploring web publishing and the ways to collaborate with many people simultaniously. Blogging requires an openness that is not present in email or other collaborative spaces. It is an interesting medium to participate in. Even though, I am not being read at this point. You can see many of the themes that I am exploring pop up in my web log. It is actually functioning as a superb journaling experience for me.

I published this weblog to potentially create a place to have some discussion about my job search, the industries and subject areas that interest me. I don't seem to be attracting readers, although, I think I have had some browsers. I find the format helpful for me however, because I can see how my thinking is progressing.

I had to take the comments button out tonight. They were causing the site to crash. Maybe it was a server error.

Hi Jill,
A blog is a public journal published on the web. Postings frequently point to other sites that the publisher finds interesting. It originally provided a way to take advantage of other peoples understanding of the internet and revealed interesting sites. It has evolved to a kind of micropublishing for individuals and groups.

Send me your information a about Ekotecture if you get a chance.

Hi Ralph, your site is a great initiative.
I would like to explore with you the possibility to join our strenghts to create a KM consultancy on both sides of the Atlantic. My domain of expertise is the management of relations with large IT Market Research firms (such as Gartner, ...) and Business information providers (such as Factiva, ...)
Speak you soon.

Hi Ralph,

Just to let you know that your site is great and fascinating. Loads of very interesting topics which reflect your diverse range of pursuits. I wish you well in your job search. I hope you don't attempt to drink too many glasses of French wine while you are doing your yoga!!

Hi Ralph, I hope you are doing well. I like your list of Burgundy domaines. Do you have a few favorites (reasonably priced) to recommend? Take care, Mark

Ralph, I thought of you today, so I thought one of the best ways to catch up on how you're doing would be through your blog. I especially liked your post re SF area economy---are you really looking to go from one coast to the other?

Take care, I'll try to catch up with you live sometime soon.

Hi Jim,

I had a number of opportunities in San Francisco that I was pursuing. Unfortunately they fell through. I really liked it there. I even found a studio for my wife and a place for my family to live. It would have been quite an adeventure.

C'est la vie.

Regarding burgandy, I really like Volnay and Pommard. Volnay's are relatively easy to find and are sometimes priced well. For a really good Pommard, it is quite pricey. I love to explore though. BTW, there are some great Pinot Noirs from Calafornia and Washington. They are different from the French wines, IMO not as earthy, but well worth enjoying.

Hey Ralph,

The fine art of cigar appreciation seems to have skipped me over, but my son appears to be a budding afficianado. He acquired a humidor for Christmas and of course, could use some more cigars to hold in it. Since I wouldn't have the slightest idea of what to get, I just thought I'd ask you what some of your favs are, and why (so I can sound mildly read on the subject when I tell him). Thanks for any help you can give!

Hope your other interests are working out well also!

jim
