Howdy neighbors...
Our Shar Pei pup, "Dude", snuk out of our house & has once again, gone for a little afternoon stroll around Bar K. If anyone sees a sandy brown, very wrinkly dog running around, probably near Bridger trail, please call us to let us know so we can come fetch up our lil run away. thanks a bunch...

Just passing along that we have mopped up the piles at the head of Little James Creek. We will have firefighters in there again tomorrow checking to make sure the piles are out. All the piles still have snow completely surrounding them making them very secure. Our folks will be out there again tomorrow after 10 a.m. We will not be burning in there again until we get adequate snow which might be out of the next storm on Monday. If so we will put out notices again. If you see people burning piles in Bar K it is likely LeftHand Fire or private citizens burning. We will not be burning tomorrow. Thanks.

I'm heading to Tucson tomorrow to bring my mom back here to live with me. So, if you knew Elean Schein while she was here for 14 years, and would like to welcome her back, then please get in touch with me at stephenehpets at gmail dot com. She talks often of missing here and the folks here and I'm sure she'd be overjoyed to even just talk on the phone with people who know her after she gets here. Thanks.

WOOD! Here's the scoop. It is the same cost whether you purchase 2 cords or 8. Given that Jeff and I will split a 2 cord load. Just wanted you all to know.. I was holding out to see if it was cheaper. They can deliver a 2, 3, or 6 cord load but don't have a way to measure at the drop. They are willing to do separate drops though. The real number is 3-330-0517

MERC REVIEW #109848392093485720-Q
Thursday night's dinner at the Merc was, to coin a term, FANTABULOUS! So many tastes that integrate and melt in the mouth -- WELL worth the price for a hearty, filling, delicious meal in a relaxing, fun atmosphere of neighbors and extremely talented musicians. Oh yeah, the beer is great and always served with a smile!
We are truly blessed to have such WONDERFUL, skilled, friendly, TIPPETY-TOP CHEFS right here in our very own backyard. Thank you Rainbow, Lulu, Sarah F., Matt, Sara M., Alex, Karen A., Bud-day, and special guest chefs for putting LOTS O'LOVE in our food!
Rainbow, you are doing a PHENOMENAL job with our commUNITY hub and I ain't just butterin' yer bread!

J.A.M. CLINIC -- SUNDAY, NOV. 8, 4:00pm @ THE MERC "PRACTICAL MUSIC THEORY FOR REGULAR FOLKS" $12 at the door, all proceeds will go to J.A.M.
Hey neighbors, very sorry I didn't post this a little sooner, but I just want to remind everyone of the clinic that I will be teaching tomorrow (Sunday...might already be "TODAY" by the time you read this). My intention is to give an overview of music theory that will be applicable for any musician, at almost any ability level (except perhaps more advanced players who already have a decent grasp on music theory), regardless of what styles of music or what instrument(s) you play.
You do not need to be an advanced musician AT ALL to benefit from this clinic. I believe I have a way of cutting through the complexities of music theory and boiling it down to some basic elements that are in play in virtually all of the music that we listen to. So if your knowledge of music consists of knowing nothing more than a few chords on the guitar, you can still gain a deeper understanding of those chords and how they fit together with other chords, etc.
Here's a little rundown of some of the things I'm planning to cover:
--The "musical alphabet" and the major scales --Keys and key signatures --The structure of major and minor chords --The structure of more complex chords --Chord progressions and the functions of the chords within them --Transposing chord progressions into different keys --An overview of the modes (time permitting)
I'll also save time at the end for general Q&A about music theory questions that people may have. I don't anticipate the clinic taking more than 60-90 minutes.
Hope to see you there!
Paul
