In comparison to High School, college is great (to say the least). I know that the end of senior year was somewhat trying for a lot of us. We knew what our future held. We all heard the stories. We knew that this "freedom" existed, that it would soon be ours, but we werent quite there yet.

When it finally rolled around, I was more than happy to pack my bags and get the hell out of Columbus. Dont get me wrong I love Columbus, and I love my home. But I really felt like that chapter in my life was written, and that it was time to move on.

Overall, college is everything that I hoped it would be. This freedom that so many people spoke of is actually a real thing. At the same time it is accompanied by a lot of responsibility, which many of us knew coming into college, and therefore I dont feel that the transition was THAT hard (at least for me).

Hello eveyone. Well when i was in highschool i was really looking forward to coming to college. I had the best time during my senior year, then when i got here i realized that i was in for a treat because wverything here is a million times better than my home town. I had visited OU a few times last year because i knew people and that made me wanna come. Now that im here its so much better than being a visitor. Now that i look back at my highschool years it just makes me mad that i didnt have as much fun there, but im having a blast now and not holding anything back. I cant wait for tomorrow to come and something new to happen. OU here i come, highschool there i go.

I thought college was gonna be horrible to be honest. I chose coming here before i even set foot on the campus. Now that I'm here I'm glad this was my choice. It's still a little early to say that it's easy here since it's only the first quarter of freshman year so I won't go that far. I do think that this first quarter is a lot better than i had hoped. I was prepared to have some pretty rough classes, but i am pleasantly surprised. My perception of ou was a party school because that's all you ever hear about the place. I don't think it's that crazy down here. I've seen worse that's for sure. Everyone is really friendly which is another pleasant surprise and I think I would have a totally different perspective on the place if everyone wasn't so nice.

I expected college to be extremely difficult. I thought that I would constantly be reading, writing essays, studying, and doing nightly homework. I also thought I would have trouble making friends, considering I'm a bit shy around people that I don't know. I also figured that my professors would be rude and up tight. My perception of college changed in many ways once I got here. My work is a little time consuming, but It's not too hard. (knock on wood) Now that I've got into the routine of studying and doing my homework, its not too stressful. I've made friends pretty easily here, not every one is friendly, but so far so good. I've managed not to be as shy as I thought I would be. My professors are all pretty cool. They all seem very passionate about their subjects, which makes it more interesting for me. So far I really like it here, I don't have any classes on Fridays, so I have lots of time to get my homework done and then go out and have fun. The weekends are great here, there's always people to hang out with and places to go. I miss my friends back home but I'm definitly not homesick, which is something I expect to be. Well everybody, have an exciting weekend!

Hey people. I was really excited before coming here. Sitting at home sucked because I was ready to come to OU and start. It was then that I realized moving here also means starting school and I believe I speak for everybody when I say school blows. So after that, school was just school. I knew that I had to work my ass off for good grades. This is the same thing the entire class has said, but high school was a breeze and once it was over it was time to lay back and relax. I miss that relaxing thing. Anyhoo, I do have a lot of my high school buddies come here so we hang out on weekends and whatnot. It's cool to meet some of their new friends and vice versa. All right it's Friday and I'm still on the computer so I'm headed out! Have a fun weekend!

I remember on college day at my high school all of the people would come in and tell horror stories about college and how much work is envolved, and how much different it is then high school, but then when i got here i relized that the work is as hard as you make it and that it really isnt that different from high school, but you just walk to different buildings for classes. i found that if i just pace myself for homework and studying that im fine, its not all that hard after all. :)

Before coming to college I was thinking that it wasn't going to be that hard. I knew that there was going to be some work involved but I didn't think it was going to be so bad. Well I got here and the first week wasn't hard at all and I though. So I was right and I thought college was going to be a breeze. My prespective changed so fast my head is spinning in all directions. I study non stop, until early hours in the morning for some classes and it just doesn't pay off. It seems the more I study the harder my classes get and the lower my grade goes. I'm still trying to get in that groove to figure how to study and get good grades at the same time but it's not working. My opinion though has changed drastically since the beginning of school. I went from "this is going to be a breeze, they are telling me stuff I already know" to "what the f**k just happened and how did they come up with that answer".

I loved going to High School where I saw all of my friends everyday, never had any homework, went to the basketball and football games, all the high school dances, and did pretty much whatever I wanted, however, the college life down here is so much more exciting and adventurous and it's like I'm starting all over. I'm meeting so many sweet people and I feel at home all over again. It's not that college is harder, i think it just might seem like that because you actually have to do your homework where as in High school you could get away without doing your homework, or just copyin it 5 min. before class starts. I take college alot more serious than I took High school, I think that's the biggest difference between high school and college. well gotta get ready for another fun and exciting weekend!! everyone have fun, be safe and be good! :)

Well,
College was a big adjustment from the kind of life that I was used to. I cruised through high school and was a complete bum all summer only working about 12 hours a week. Everything was so easy and laid back. I could just hop into my car and go anywhere and everywhere I wanted to be. However now that I am at college alot has changed. I still feel the laizze-faire vibe but I am definetly alot busier than i was at home. I have alot more to do for myself. However I think it will help me grow in life.

Being the oldest child in my family, I never had a brother or sister go to college before me and tell me what it was like. When the time came to think about the whole college thing, I had no idea where to start looking. I was very nervous and didn't really know what to expect. I thought it was going to be harder than high school, but it didn't turn out that way. I actually find it easier than high school for the most part. I didn't really want to come to college, I felt comfortable at home. I had my normal routine during the day, and I liked it. When I arrived here I wasen't to excited either. But now that I have been here for almost a month, I absolutly love it. My perspective on college has changed drastically since we have arrived at OU.

When I finally decided that I really wanted to attend OU I expected a lot from the school. I then became nervous that my expectations would be let down, because I might be expecting too much. I worried about the people I would meet and if I would really find a good new group of friends. I am very happy to say that OU is everything I had hoped for and that my expectations were not let down at all. The food was even a little better than I expected.

I had no idea what to expect as I came into college. I heard my dad's horror stories about how much work undergrad was at Michigan, and I was prepared to become a studying hermit, but I really didn't want that at all. When I got through the first week, I saw that it was not nearly as bad as what my dad had portrayed and that I could live my life here as well. I got here and realized the freedom that I have here and that doing my work is all about self-disipline. I decided that I was going to work hard during the week, and then play hard all weekend. Well, today is Friday, so it's play time ladies and gents.

Before i came to OU, i thought college would be alot harder than high school. In high school i didn't have to do alot to get by, and i thought I would have to acctually put some effort in the classes at college. I also thought there would be non-stop parties here. Now that I'm acctually here, i found i was right about somethings and worng about others. Some classes are pretty easy, but others are pretty difficult. I have to study alot more than i expected. Plus the parties here are fun, but I've seen nothing new here that i havn't seen in my home town of Toledo.

Last year, I took a couple of classes at the University of Akron. I knew what to expect, as far as the difference between a high school class and a college course. Therefore, my main concern was not the schooling portion. Although, I was worried that a may get a non-american professor, whom I would not be able to understand. That could pose some more difficulty on a class. My main concern before I came was wondering how my roommates and I would get along. They had a few ideas I didn't agree with at first, but as of now, everything is going great. We get along well, and it has become a more fun, and exciting adventure than I first expected.

Yeah! Before I came to OU I thought every thing was going to be all boring and the classes would be hard. I also thought the professors would be also boring and they would all give me lots of hard assignment, but when I got here I realize that the school is really what you make it. If you stay home and do nothing all day you probably won't like this school, and the work is also as hard as you make it. I know there are some hard classes but most time if you wait too late to study and do everything last minute then you would probably have a hard time.

Hey everybody! Hope your weekend goes well! As for the topic....Before I came to OU I was expecting a lot of fun, but was really stressed out about how my classes and professors were going to be. I knew I would feel better once I had a routine started. After my first week at OU my nerves calmed down a lot! I had a comfortable routine formed and all my professors were very nice! So far, I love OU.....except for the weather at times. I look forward to being a Bobcat the next four years. Hope all of you are enjoying your college experience so far..as much as I have been enjoying mine! Have a great day :)
P.S. Andy...did you here the speaker in Dr. Anderson's class mention your Tree Huggers yesterday? :)
