I'll try to only send this once...
Nice work, Tim. Looking forward to seeing this novel again. On my bookshelf.

You replaced a scene of sex with a scene of violence? How American of you. ;)

Hey Jon, usually I'm all for more sex, less violence, but I have to agree that the scene didn't quite fit in Rangergirl. I haven't gotten to read the violence yet, but from the way he describes it, it sounds like it does fit better.
Tim's next novel has a sex party scene, though, so it's all good.

I like both sex & violence in my fiction!
The new scene is better. Let me reiterate: Someone gets kicked in half! But it's not gratuitious. Seriously, it's not. You'll see.
There's a whole *chapter* set at a sex party in the next book. Although there's very little in that chapter that's erotic, oddly enough.

Oh, now, Tim and I posting those at almost the exact same time, that's pretty funny!

Yes, this I'll have to see.

If it’s the sex scene I’m thinking of, Tim, I think you did the right thing. And I trust you not to gratuitously kick anyone in half. :) Fingers crossed for Rangergirl — I’m looking forward to seeing it in print.

Dave -- it's the threesome scene. Which was fun to write, and rather well-written, I think, but ultimately it didn't fit the characters, and the sexual intimacy came to overwhelm other elements in their relationships, and undermined some of my points about the protagonist's character development, too.
I kept the obsessive-compulsive sex scene in the mud, though, of course -- that's pretty crucial to the book.

That’s what I figured. I didn’t think there was anything particularly wrong with the scene as a scene, but you’re right — it just didn’t fit.
And yes, the mud scene has to stay. :)

The Flytrap web pages look great to me, Mr. I'm-not-that-good-with-HTML. (I'm using Safari on a Mac, for reference.) In fact they look really great! And Heather showed off the mock-up, which looks glorious and professional and makes me really really want one right now. :)

Agreed. The Flytrap page looks really nice. That would be me using Mozilla on UNIX. Also looks equally as good on Konqueror (another browser).

Thanks for the info, guys! I have a nasty tendency to forget to close HTML tags, especially when I have a profusion of them, as with tables. Glad to hear the pages look good.
Flytrap should be quite beautiful. I'm glad you liked the mock-up! I'm rather pleased with it. We here at Tropism Press strive for simple elegance...

Thanks, Tim, for the comments on my blog about...erm...length. You give me hope!
And yes, the rough-cut of Flytrap looked awesome, as does the site.

Oh, I'm going to make it link to a larger version of the cover image. I just haven't actually done so yet. Maybe this weekend.
