Poetry is Writing with line breaks and In New York it's performance and In San Francisco it's protest and In Star*Line it's entertainment but For me it's Distilled Truth.
And the only reason I'm interested in Everybody reading it is so Everybody writes it 'cause Everyone ought to know They have a voice.
If you cared what I thought.
We gonna hang out sometime?

Tim Pratt and Charlie Stross: taking over the world from opposite ends of the speculative fiction spectrum.

That's a really nice pre-review, Tim. I'm looking forward to getting the book this fall and will have our library order a copy too. Too bad I don't work for a public library where they order multiple copies! I keep sending my siblings info. about your, and Heather's, successes. I'm getting to be all puffed up about my future son-in-law. 'course, I've always been puffed up about my daughters. Mom Linda

Oh, I don't know -- James Taylor's a fellow Carolina boy, who has publicly said that he got into his art primarily as a means to get chicks. That sounds like me!

I was all ready to say "Great review!" but now I can only say "You might want to leave the James Taylor comparison out of the press kit."

Your description of the slugfest was truly nightmarish. One thing I don't miss about California...

This is true. Official release date is November, though they expect to have copies available at World Fantasy, at the end of October. I'll probably change my page to November, though.

Tim: Just noticed that Prime Books actually has the release date for Little Gods as November 1st, while your "Little Gods" page has it as October.

Shannon: Well, the book won't be out for nearly another three months (it should be ready by World Fantasy at the end of October), so it's a bit early even for pre-orders. But once it's available to pre-order (from Amazon, the publisher, the usual places), I'll include that info.
I hope the color scheme isn't too wretched. I'm color blind, and that can be a dangerous thing in web design...

Tim, nice intro and good page for Little Gods - only one little comment...
is there a way to (or coming soon) pre-order the book? Either directly from the publisher or perhaps more helpfully through Amazon.com?

That's some pretty sweet words, man. If only we could all be so well introduced.
Okay, that doesn't make sense, but I'm going to let it stand.

well, I still have remaining questions. North or South of Park, East or West of 580, when you say 'past Lake Merritt' you obviously mean something different by that than I do. But, you know, someplace in there.
