The Contemporary World Project of MHC Presents:
“A World in Fluctuation: Defining Human Security for the 21st Century”
Undergraduate Student Conference 2003

The Contemporary World Project seeks to identify a different way in which students and policymakers alike can think about international security. Originating out of “Operation Decide: US-Iraq Crisis”, CWP wishes to take a proactive stance toward the chaotic atmosphere of world politics today. We have three objectives: to identify the nature and impact of the concept on international relations; to define and develop the concept and challenge of human security; and lastly, to propose a set of international security priorities and tools for policymakers. The conference encorporates issues of environmental sustainability, economic disparity, non-traditional approaches to terrorism, and the digital divide. Our conference is meant to bring togther students from different disciplines to discuss issues and consider proactive positions on different but interconnected issues. For more information
