Well, I've surprised even myself how much I've been reading since graduating from college (beats looking for a job!). I'd rather have stuck razor blades in my fingers than turn another page some years ago, but then, I care shit all about RNA recombination.

I started light, reading mostly funny stuff (which is still my favorite), but quickly became ready to take on something bigger.

I got bigger alright.

All the press suggests Infinite Jest is a Great Work and I've read far too few of those. And when one of those is readable, i.e. entertaining, that is when reading becomes joy.

Problem is I may be tackling to many heady books at once. Donger recommended Understanding Media and I've heard rumors that text is not only dense, but disorganized. Seeing as how that thunderslut read it though, it can't be too hard.

Ha! Lisa would sympathize, she's practically broken her toe on my hardcover copy about 20 times.

When I worked at Borders, I had a guy buy Infinite Jest Underworld and Mason and Dixon", all in hardcover(1996 was the season of the epic). I asked him if he needed a spotter to get them all out to the car.

All kidding aside, I love big complicated books like IJ, it's like having a big labyrinth to play in. Believe it or not is does actually turn into really funny and almost chillingly insightful book.
