plus you would lose 1 day of timed functions and other suitable time. Scanner retrieval/setup, stamp stock time, throwback times, loading time, withdrawal, etc. You would lose delivery time, strap out time, box time, unloading/reloading time and drive time. You would lose personal time for 1 or 2 days per PP. You would lose markup time for doing these less days. Clearance slip credit, riffling time, arrow key time credit. If you have a LLV you'd lose fueling time and inspection time. Etc.

J routes are paid for 11 days per pay period and H routes for 12. So you would reduce your pay and EMA by 1 or 2 days per pay period because all routes would work 10 days per PP.

5 day will not happen IMO the HR22 bill will pass but delivery will not change! Potter will only get half what he wants.

You can get a 4003 from the computer. Ask the PM in the office. I think they are wonderful. You can take them to the street with you. I wouldn't do a new route without one.

DoneDid: Do they not have copy machines in your state? Amazing.

AR PM: Amen to that. I had one of the worst excuses for a 4003 I've ever seen in my last office -- instructions to turn from one street to another, when the streets didn't even intersect, lefts that were rights and vice-versa. Just a jumbled mess of nothing, on a route out in the boonies with no street signs. What a nightmare. The office I'm in now is like the other 2 I've worked in: Just grab the 4003 & a map, & you're good to go.

Eman & Nuhusker: Subs in my office NEVER get any "training" on a route. Training occurs when they (we) are thrown on it for the first time. This district and my postmaster are far too cheap to pay for training.

An accurate map AND an accurate 4003 should be in every route book. If they're not, gripe until they are. Regulars, help out the subs on this. And subs, when you're done with them, PUT 'EM BACK!!!

I had a RCA that was told could not take the 4003 outside of the office. The RCA was sent out and told to just follow the mail.

A well done 4003 is worth it's weight in gold.

I was sent out to do half a route with just the 4003 and I beat the reg sub back with his half, and I only had 3 boxes I couldn't find. 40 miles of route 20 miles from town to start. Way out in the woods. It can be done.

I'll tell you this Skeeter, have had 2 regulars retire in 2 little towns and they want to borrow our subs, which is ok so they can make a little extra, but!! Central Plains doesn't want to even train them on the new routes, just send them out with a map and wish them well. what a joke!!

wendelloc62@yahoo.com /m6913 You know, I did the math and came up with over 12 boxes per mile.....even minus the 190 ncdbus. Very sorry , though.
