For those of you serving AUx routes::::
Heres a warning you should heed!!!! Take a look around your office...if you have substandard routes....or lots of H or J routes...you better take a hard look at what would happen should they suddenly decide to reabsorb your Auxies!!!!!
What route is available for you to go back to if you have chosen the 6 day assignment? Are there openings on the matrix for you to take to make up some lost days? Just because they havent said they are lookin at the cost savings of keeping an Aux..DOES NOT mean they arent!!! Just cause your a SENIOR SUB...does not mean you will get your choice of things...if they take away the choice of the aux....ThINK ABOUT IT!!

Good post SuperSub. With mail volumes down, it's not unlikely that H routes, and maybe some small Js, will need to have terrritory added after mail count to remain abve 40 hours. If that happens the Aux routes will go bye bye. As you warn, any RCA currently on an Aux 6 days, may want to move to an available sub position now or risk being stuck with what's left after route adjustments. Remember if there's not 12 hours left on the Aux, it will be gone.

Can management eliminate an auxillary route if the other routes (4) are all J routes? The aux is 4 hours a day or 24 a week. Can they give each route 1 hour of work? Or they can only do this if the regular routes fall below 40.

Its all about the $. They are doing this all over the place. We had only small K routes and they took the Aux and we think they figure to get it all back from them in Feb when they count us. Why pay bennies to another carrier is their logic.

Just Bob, Keep us posted if the other 3 quit or just what does end up happening. The POOM will probably be rewarded while those under him have to pay for their sins! Bet the PM who resigned will be the only one who does. The others will probably get away with it. Interesting to me that the OIG even went out of their way to check this fraud out! Always seems like they concentrate most of their efforts on us peons!

I have a problem, I have been going to the dr. for the last 4 months and my dr. tells me that I forget things. Well, I forgot to go to work this past saturday. My supervisor gave me a letter stating a failure to report to work. I don't know what to do. I did go to my dr. to see if she can make me a letter concerning my health. I still don't know if she can help me but if she makes me that letter will this affect my job? I am taking the medications everyday and trying to better myself. So let me know what i should do. Thanks...

just me....seriously...you cant remember things....my best piece of advice for you is to write things down that are important the night before you go to bed so you dont forget. I wonder how you are able to remember your mailcase every day and the streets/customers on your route and in your case. Is this problem a hinderance in your performance of your job duties? If you write down stuff or even tape record stuff(as long as you dont bring the tape recorder in the office and do it when you leave work) maybe you will remember things better.

Just Me, Do you have an alarm clock, maybe set it for the same time you would get up normally for work each morning and make it a habit to go over your notes, sit down and make your notes each day for the next day. I know when I am going to work on Saturday, on Friday I make sure I have my vehicle in good running order, get clothes and a lunch ready for the next day. Maybe on Friday treat your self to a bubble bath or something special in anticipation. I hope you don't forget where the customers live.

Does anyone know if carriers are covered driving to and from work? or are we just covered while on the actual route. A carrier in our office was in an accident after leaving work to go home.

I guess I should add...it really dont matter either..YOU are still going to pay for it...lmao!!!
We had a sub report hitting a deer on the way to work...she ended up doing tons of paperwork...and still it went on her insurance..I reckon the only thing that this really applies to is if you are injured.

Thank you supersub, regular carrier was injured, broken rib and punctured lung. According to the carrier she went straight home. I agree she will PAY FOR IT!
