Evening folks. Hey Mark, how'd the golf tournament go? Was probably a pretty good day for golf. Got a big group coming in from NY and Alabama tomorrow. This group is looking over housing prospects at ISU. The big deal we have been working on here locally is getting some press now and the client is going to do some applying to get some stimulus money from the city. Could be a good deal. TT Construction will be doing the building, so at least construction has work through the winter. Development is still struggling, but we are still out there beating the bushes for work. Hope something materializes for all the effort.
Got chores to do, so you all have a good evening. Later

Bob W. That is great news about Diane. Glad to hear you are going to go to the gym. Please, however, don't stay there from opening to closing! lol
Seriously, we all probably need to do some sort of exercise. Well, I do anyway. I know that I have gained a few pounds since I am not working. Didn't realize what little walking and climbing stairs I did would make such a difference.
Lorraine, thanks for asking about Chris and I. July 4, 2009 was my independance day! Making it 12 weeks for me on Sunday. That could be a part of my weight gain, but not much. Some foods sure do taste better! Chinese food is my weakness, but it is pretty healthy. I eat lots of shrimp, baked salmon, and fish when we go.
Got a call this evening that school is out tomorrow and Friday because of sickness. (I'm still on the One Call list) Didn't know things were that bad here in our county. Next week is Fall break, so hopefully things will get better soon. 3 or 4 confirmed cases of flu and lots of upper respitory infections. I'm staying away from public places!! I need to go to Wally's so think I will do that at 6:00 a.m. in the morning. No people there then.
Didn't mean to write a book, but you are such a captive audience.
Night all.

Lorraine: It was a great day for golf. We shot a -10 (61). Tied for 5th out of 34 teams. Not bad, but no prizes. -13 won the tournament. We had a good day and ate our fill of Lasagna, salad and breadsticks with apple crisp for dessert.

Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen. What a beautiful, sunny morning this is! I hope your day is as sunny as the weather.

I hope my day is sunnier than the weather. Looks like rain all day here. If tonight's softball game isn't rained out, it will be cold and damp and miserable.

Happy October.

Ugh.

Our daughter, s-i-l, their 4 little ones and kids she watches have passed flu and strep throat in circles for at least 3 weeks! She keeps sick ones in lower level in isolation and has used gallons of cleaning stuff. Between school, church and each other I don't see any signs of hope! Did I mention heading that way Tuesday?!?!?!?!?!!?

Morning all. Partly sunny and 41ºF with a high of 64ºF and a low of 49ºF tonight. Mickey is such a whoosh...it got from 45º to 38º from midnight to 9 a.m. this morning and he turns on the furnace last night. I couldn't believe it. That's one of our biggest arguments every year...he turns up the heat and I turn it down. I just can't sleep at night with the heat up that much.

For those of you who are constantly bothered by thoughtwaves of aliens (and I know what a headache that can be), here's a site that will help you make a helmet that will scramble your brain waves, rendering them unintelligible to visitors from outer space:

Jean, I don't think your family needs to worry about getting flu shots. You will all have immunity when it's over and long before the shots are available. Is that called letting nature take care of itself?????? Jean take lost of hand sanitizer and wear a mask. Tell the kids you are practicing for halloween.
Helen, you'd sleep well at my house. I keep my house very cool. I have individual room thermostats and my bedroom is typically between 60-65. I close off the extra bedrooms and turn them back to 50. The rest of the house is usually at 68-70. I think it's healthier to keep your house a little cool. In the summer I keep it warmer than most. Never turn AC below 77. I know, I'm weird. But my light bills are low.

Lorraine - I would love it if I could keep the thermostat that low, but Mickey would have a fit. He says he wants it to be "comfortable" in the house. Well, I do, too, and I don't mind wearing sweaters if it's a little chilly, that's what they are for. Guess, I'll have to try and talk him into wearing more clothes around the house. Wish me luck.

Well gosh, Helen, just brag won't you?!!! A younger man who doesn't wear a lot of clothes around the house. Hmmph! Must be nice. LOL - just kidding you, Girl - well, kind of! I did turn my furnace on last night - for my bird, Dennis. However, I turned it to 60 degrees, that's all. I'm wondering if I will see a difference in my bill since auntie is no longer living at my house. I won't have to keep the house nearly as warm - which is okay by me.

Marcy, you may see a lot of changes in your utility bills this winter. When you live alone, there are a lot of things you do differently. I've been known to eat peanut butter and light with candles to save so that I can travel. And, speaking of travel, I'm looking at another trip. Same group of people I went to Panama with are having a 12 day 4 island ground trip to Hawaii in February. I called and told them I'd like to go, but needed someone to room with. So she called today and said she had a lady about my same age who wants to go but didn't want to pay the single rate either. I think I may even know this lady. She works in Brazil at a funeral home. So I have her information and we are to get in touch and see if we are compatible. Sure would be nice. That's another location I can check off my bucket list. And, it will be nice in Hawaii in February. Spending Mom's money again! Sure hope my kids aren't expecting to inherit anything from me. Cause as long as I'm healthy and can, I'm traveling as much as possible. Never know where I might end up.

WOW, Hawaii in February would be great.
I too, keep my furnace at 66 and air at 77. I wear warm clothes and heavy socks in the winter and keep the house closed up in summer. Robert is fine with both, he dresses quite briefly though. We have a whole house fan that we use at bedtime when warm and lots of granny-made quilts for winter.

Hello everyone! I didn't graduate in '65 but I was at the '67 board and it's pretty dead right now so I thought I'd pop over here for a bit. Most of you probably don't know or remember me..lol. Yep, I'm still working and they're taking precautions for the H1N1 virus there. We've got the antibacterial soap in all the bathrooms plus hand sanitizer all over the place. I'm not going to get the shot either. Tooooo scary for me!

Mr. T! I just have to say that I was so surprised to see you here on the boards..it's a really nice surprise! I doubt you remember me either but I sure remember you. I was wondering if it was really you though until I saw some pictures..lol. How wonderful. I was in your biology class but I'm afraid I was nearly failing..lol.

Good morning group!
Cool, windy, and drizzling rain in southern Ky. this morning. It's a good one to curl up in the recliner with a blanket and a cup of coffee.
Why am I not doing that?
Bye. . .

Yup Sandra. What is the matter with you?!!! I'll be leaving here about 10 to go home and fetch Anni. We are heading south today. Hopefully it will be decent weather by the time we arrive so the kids can play outside. God willing, I'll see you all back here on Monday.
