We finally got rain down here this evening. Really needed it. BUT still beautiful weather. Come on down. You won't be far from The Villages in Inverness. Wish we were going to be here when you are.

Hello all;
Just wanted to thank everyone for the Birthday wishes. I had a great day. Some gifts, some phone calls, and my son and niece came to church to visit and we went out to eat. All in all a very good day. And the weather was wonderful. We are going to suffer for this. When the cold hits it will be hard. Have a good turkey week.

That "last 12 minutes" sounds ominous. What's that about?

Had a blah weekend myself. Did a little yard work, put away all the hoses, and gathered up all the various plant props.

I'm a bit late with this one, but if you haven't heard this, you MUST listen:

A musician named Dave Carroll recently had difficulty with United Airlines. United apparently damaged his treasured Taylor guitar ($3500) during a flight. Dave spent over 9 months trying to get United to pay for damages caused by baggage handlers to his custom Taylor guitar. During his final exchange with the United Customer Relations Manager, he stated that he was left with no choice other than to create a music video for youtube exposing their lack of cooperation. The Manager responded : "Good luck with that one, pal".

So he posted a retaliatory video on youtube. The video has since received over 5.5 million hits. United Airlines contacted the musician and attempted settlement in exchange for pulling the video. Naturally his response was: "Good luck with that one, pal".

Taylor Guitars sent the musician 2 new custom guitars in appreciation for the product recognition from the video that has lead to a sharp increase in orders.

  Here's the video ....

P.S. Chris, the "last 12 minutes" was because Jean wrote it 12 minutes before the birthday was over.

Morning everyone. Slow weekend for me. Didn't get my baby fix because Matt had the flu. He got his flu shot on Thurs. and spent Thurs night, all day Friday and Sat with a fever and felt like he'd been beaten. I know you don't get the flu from the shot but his reaction to the shot is to get a mild case of it. This is the third time that's happened. He never wants to take the shot, but with Mataline in the house he and Jackie both felt they should. Now he's not happy about that. Hopefully he will be well the rest of the season. Sat I took him some home made chicken noodle soup. Maybe why he was better on Sunday. hmmmmmm.
Dan that was good about United luggage handling. I've seen those gorillas handle luggage and it's the truth. However there was one Caribbean county I visited, I think it was Costa Rica where the luggage handed each bag out like it had eggs in it. I'd never seen that before but they were as gentle as I'd ever seen. They unloaded our ATA 757 plane in no time and nothing was broken or stolen from anyone's luggage. It can be done.
I've bought new luggage for my Hawaii trip so it is probably going to happen to me now. LOL
Lovely sunny day out there. The NCAA National Cross Country races are in TH today and that's where the boss has gone. Should be a good day for them, cool and sunny.
You all have a great day.
Kitten, I think I missed your birthday by not being online all weekend. So HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! Glad you had a good one.

I just realized that it was 16 years ago this very day and this very hour that I was laying in the middle of US 41 and Walnut Street in TH after having been hit by a car. I'm told there were semi's driving within a few feet of my crashed head on the pavement. Oh my, that brings back a lot of memories that had gotten pushed back. I actually have no memories from the second I was hit until three hours afterwards, but the afterwards is still very vivid. I thank God I survived that accident and am still on this side of the grass.

Thank you. It's encouraging to know that there are those who care I'm still here. During a deposition in the divorce my ex said in court that he "wished I had died in that accident, so I'd never found out what he was doing". It took me years to get over that statement. What a jerk!
Thank you for caring. I don't say that to get sympathy, just the facts. Our words can hurt people so much sometimes.

Gee Lorraine, I had an ex like that.

Helen just posted on Facebook that they are in Alabama. Not sure how they are going to Florida, but maybe going to cut across on "10".

Sandra, a lot of people go down through AL because there is a lot less traffic and then they go across 10. I'm not sure if it's shorter or not but maybe time savings with no traffic. I've not driven that in so long I couldn't tell you if that's still the case or not. I know I75 is a real headache with traffic now.

Happy Belated Birthday to Kitten.

I have been busy cleaning because my grandson is coming home for Thanksgiving and to my house on Friday and bringing two other Marines with him. The two young men had no where to go for Thanksgiving so Aaron invited them along.....the more, the merrier. My son,his 3 stepchildren and my grandaughter are also coming to dinner.

Lorraine, I don't remember much of my accident either. I recall parts of the ambulance ride and parts of the emergency room, but nothing after that until I woke up in Intensive Care. I suppose it is best not to have such traumatic memories......glad you made it too!

We are flying late afternoon tomorrow and stopping at grocery ASAP. Will get oldest Indy grandkid tomorrow night and will have the baby Wed. Then KY clan come in Wed afternoon and leaving their 4 for weekend and oldest Indy will get to stay. So will have 7, 6, 5, 5 and 3. Won't we have some fun!!!!!!!! It will fly by. Renting condo clubhouse Friday for my siblings and their families and ours to get together. We will play games all afternoon and eat snack food. Then have pizzas for supper and play some more. Little ones run around and ride little toys. It gets very noisy and yet no one cares. They have so much fun. The first cousins all enjoy each other so much and we love seeing their children all interact and enjoy each other just as much. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving with family and friends.
