To paraphrase Tom Lehrer, "It's is a sobering thought to think that, when Mozart was my age, he'd been dead for thirty one years."

Here's a sobering thought. Check out this list of presidents:

Abraham Lincoln
James Garfield
James K. Polk
Chester A. Arthur
Warren G. Harding
William McKinley
Calvin Coolidge
Theodore Roosevelt
John Kennedy

Those of us in the Class of '65 have lived longer than every one of those presidents.

Makes me feel like I should have accomplished a bit more by now...

Hi Alum, Good afternoon. We are hoping that all of you had a great Thanksgiving. Diane & I went to her daughter & SIL's home Wednesday afternoon to visit them & the 3 grandsons. Everyone is doing fine & are in good health. We stayed 2 nights coming home this AM. Starting tomorrow it is back on my diet. I did pretty good @ mealtime. I only had 1 plate full and a single serving of desert. Brenda is visiting a friend as I type this. I'm listening to a country show rerun on the RFD channel on the dish. When we left to come home there was a thin coat of snow frozen to the windshield. There was hardly any traffic going or coming home. They live in Monroe, Indiana, near Fort Wayne. All of have a great evening & enjoy the rest of your weekend. Bye for now.

Chris, I am sure you are right about that. Any other day, they would be telling you to stock up on bread and milk!!

Went shopping for about an hour. Didn't find anything at Wally World worth bringing home. I did buy Amanda a book she has been wanting and that was it. AND NO, we didn't go at 5am. It was more like 9am. Of course the "doorbuster" items were already gone.

Looking for a relatively inexpensive (translation CHEAP) laptop for Amanda. Don't want to spend more than $350. I know that is cheap. I'll find one if I keep looking. Staples had one on sale today, but only 5 per store and it was the 5am thing.

See you later. Hope Santa Mike had a place to sit at today.

it may technically be a nor'easter today, Sandra, and we are supposed to get 50 mph winds this afternoon, but they seem to be really downplaying any expected damage. I guess they don't want to ruin Black Friday sales.

Sandy, Yes, that was the heaviest rain that I have ever seen here in FL. There was very little damage that I am aware of. I was at the other mall to shoot a commercial and the parking lot was flooded. My old full-sized van plowed through OK but several cars were flooded in the lot.

The commercial will be webcast for anybody interested. Just Google "this week in Sarasota" and the link will be the top one. It was not up this morning, but I expect it will be by early next week. I will post here when it is up.

I hope all had a wonderful Thanksgiving; I did.

Tomorrow starts Santa season on a sour note. Yesterday area manager for Dillards went to the mall manager and insisted that the Santa set be moved. My managers were almost ready to open, but were told to package up everything. As of 3:00 yesterday, there was no decision as to where the set would be located. It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We just ate and now I'm ready to rest!!! I do not feel very well today, and was so glad when the rolls came out of the oven.
Mike, looks like you got some rain yesterday. Sarasota made the news on GMA this morning with your 7 inches of rain yesterday. I know you needed some rain, but I imagine that was a little too much too quick!
Chris, GMA also said your area could be in for another Noreaster. Hope it is not too bad.
Have a great rest of the day. Later

Happy Thanksgiving, Lorraine and Mark, and all you other people who haven't been on yet, particularly Marcy who seems to have abandoned us.

I'm just getting ready to head up to Brooklyn to get Kate and Mike. I've no idea what the traffic will be like, just hope it's not too bad.

Happy Thanksgiving all! I hope you all are surrounded by family and friends today and enjoy a feast like no other. We all are so blessed.
Thanks for the Ben Davis story Chris. I'd heard bits and pieces of that. I remember only going to school half days. First grade I went in the AM, second grade I went in the PM. Third grade was my first full days of school. I went to Ben Davis from grade 1 to grade 12. I even had some of my senior classes in the same rooms where I attended first grade. When all of the other new schools were built to accommodate the growth of students, I stayed right at Ben Davis. I didn't live all that far away on Girls School Road and remained in that district. We all lived through a lot of history there. And after we build the home, we'll all make even more history! LOL
Heading off to the shower and get cleaned up. Mark is having the dinner today, so I'm not cooking. I'm taking homemade noodles. Hope to get some baby fix today. I've not seen Mataline for 2 weeks and I'm missing her.
Be safe everyone!
