To T-6 Employee:
I read post 875 from Vet and again he failed to make any sense. He can't even write down on why he is so mad. He is sad and maybe we can get some help for him before he goes " postal." For the record, I am a former letter carrier, and I appreciate the outstanding job that anyone associate with the mail does. Vet call the EEO Hotline and get some help!

Blue's I really feel for ya. If two tanks both treaded in the same tracks there would be no finding of a suckup trailing the leader, which would be the union memebers. I take it you are with management and you lack the intestinal fortitude to carry your mission out which is supplying the coffee maker with more water. Neverthless, you really dont know what other employees are going through because you never been there. There is a saying that every nation know's. If ya can't take the heat get the hell out of the kitchen. Oh before I part poastal blues, what's with your name tag Postal Blues?

Sonny, we dump twenty or more daily on one manager. And yes we love it. One thing that frustrates them the most is grievance's, due to time constraint's and how consuming they can be. Keep the paperwork rolling and they are bound to retire or drift into the goon city of SD. Seems like all the !@#$ up's in management go here.

VET, I was refering to guaranteed hours for PTFs. I believe the date for the no layoff is Nov. 20, 2006. Anyone hired prior to that date is protected to, I believe Nov.20, 2011. Our reps have been studying Article 12. In this day and time, you have to be one up on management. Our steward has been filing on a regular basis for the use of casual clerks in the MH sections. He has managed to get us money. Our PM is so arrogant that it is ridiculous. Lucky for us, we have a steward that won't stop. he gave the PM 4 grievances today and PM sighed out loud. I am luvin' it.

You can forget about our Union. People have retired and they still haven't pushed for any more regulars. Maybe the complement went down w/the reduction of mail? Anyway, do you know anything about guaranteed 20 hrs? Thanx. We are supposed to be a Tier 2

Sonny, if you are a ftr you are guaranteed 40 hrs in a service week. Just like the implementation of letting a mailhandler go if they are hired after the extensive language was introduced. They are not protected, but others hired on the date, I cannot think here is 2006 they, are protected. When I say they are not protected does not mean the union will not fight for the employee it means that management must first show that just cause was not violated or a rif happened or a amp fell through. No matter what the union will fight for what is right. That is democracy, and justice.

Female handler, work 40hrs for a period of four month's then the ptr or ptf have established a pattern for a need to hire this individual full time. There really isn't anything under article 8 that states the 40 hr rule for four consecutive month's, but it has been established over and over again nationwide. this language is commonly called past practice and if your good like muwahhh, you can establish a certain nedd to convert these individual's to ft. Right now we are hammering them on loaner clerk's in lieu of violation's. We are having ao's come in from all over and taking our job functions away. Here is the kicker, they are supplied with a 1260 card for hour's and no tac500r report's, we are rfi's left and right and still no answer from management. Go figure. The buck doesn't stop here, it get's shelled out when we win for violation's like this.

Our State Rep. said that the National Contract does not say anything about gauranteed hours. However, casuals (if you guys have any) can not get more hours than a flex. PTFs can have split days off as well as split shifts. We are going thru this in my facility. PTF works 5 hours a day on T3. Casual works about 7 a day on T1. Steward filed and said to put the casual on T3 and bring the flex on T1 to get hours. It's a big mess but if you have a good steward he/she should be able to help. Good luck.
