President's Memorial Day Call to prayer
May 18, 2006

Bush Proclaims Memorial Day Prayer for Peace

In honor of the men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting the U.S. through military service -- and those who have lost their lives in that service -- President Bush declared May 29, 2006, as a day of prayer for permanent peace.

"Those who lost their lives in the defense of freedom helped protect our citizens and lay the foundation of peace for people everywhere," proclamation states. "On Memorial Day, a grateful Nation pays tribute to their personal courage, love of country, and dedication to duty."

The president encouraged people to gather at 11 a.m. local time to unite in prayer, observe the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. local time and display the flag at half-staff.

Congratulations to A.C. on his appointment for next year. 14 years at Trinity is a wonderful testimony of your dedication to Christ.

The "Transitions" to come sound great. We pray that God will bless Trinity's future endeavors as it's fabulous history illustrates. Sounds like Jason is in the "business" of change.

Thanks Oletha for the June issue of the Chimes....as always, informative and jovial. We read it from cover to cover.

May God bless you all.

I wanted to let everyone know that I found my cell phone. Thanks to everyone at VBS that was helping to look. Jordan and I were driving home last night and we both spotted it at the same time on the corner of the dashboard. Thanks again.

I pray, in lite of the letter that we received regarding the hardship at Trinity, that everyone will rally around A.C. (and Kathy) plus the leadership at Trinity. Now is the time that we turn our hearts toward God and trust that His Will be done. Let us pray that anyone that has been led astray by false stories, etc. turn their hearts toward God and do what is right. The last few years have been a struggle to say the least. It is time that those of us that truly love the Lord and want to do His Will take a stand and pray, rebuking the presence of evil that may still be lurking.

Hi to all the Children of God at Trinity. Not having rec'd letter such as described in previous posting, I cannot reply to specifics. However, when we join a church congregation (United Methodist or otherwise), our verbal assent is to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior & Lord. That promise is for God's eternity, not just a humman lifetime or a pastor's appointment. We serve a great God who is in charge, and He is working matters out on His timetable. If there is difficulty at Trinity, perhaps it points to a problem we all have in not making Christ FIRST in our lives. Love to all, Milt

It is with great sadness and at the same time great joy that I write to say that Rita Dixon passed away this morning. For those of you reading this that haven't heard, after attending A.C's Wednesday night bible study, Rita was meeting with her Emmaus accountability group and suffered a massive stroke. I don't know of any one person that loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ more that she did. And her love for Him was with the innocence of a child. She was excited about the day she would be able to rejoice with Him in heaven. God blessed her with a wonderful gift of worship and praising him through litugical dance. Whenever I had the pleasure of watching her, there was no doubt in my mind where she was spiritually. It was just a few years ago that she believed that she was so unworthy there was no way God could ever love her. Fortunately she found out the truth - that He had loved her before she was even born. A.C. and I both feel very fortunate to have witnessed the transformation in her life and she will definitely be missed by us and many! Her memorial service will be Monday evening at Trinity. Our thoughts and prayers are with Charlie and her kids and grandkids.

Three things........ First I would like to wish all, a very Happy "Full of Food" thanksgiving..
Second, I would like to be the first to wish all, A Very Merry CHRISTmas, and a Safe Healthy New Year, all year.
Third, and this is a minor issue, easily resolved.. To whom ever is taking care of this Web Site, you may have not noticed, but your eraser, must have become worn, some of the messages are a few months old.. But that's okay, I don't mind rereading some of them,,,,,,,

Gospel Concert Series....2nd concert.

December 1st, FRIDAY, 6:45 pm Safe Harbor Quartet

This male quartet from South Carolina has been singing God's praises for the past 12 years. They have toured North America from Canada to Florida and from the East coast to the West coast. They are true professionals.

Their love for missions, enthusiasm for Gospel music and charisma puts them in a league of their own.

Come have an evening of blessings, hear some old favorite gospel songs and lift your hearts to the Lord. See you there Friday evening. And bring a friend so they experience a "heart warming" devotion time, too.

Yes Milton, the Chili cook-off was great! I had a wonderful time - it was a lot of fun seeing so many people and fellowshiping with them. Jason and Joanna have done such a wonderful job since coming to Trinity. I can't wait too see what they have up their sleeve for next time! Also, it is so nice to see you and Mary each and every Sunday again. I'm so glad ya'll are back for the winter.

My name is Nancy...I got a call today at work and found out our neighbors had a fire. The 11 year old son should not have been cooking, but did cook when he got in from school anyway....he left the pan on the stove with nothing in it and the next thing he knew, it started and the fire grew......it was horrible, their home, devastating....Their living room, kitchen, laundry room, dining room is destroyed, it was so much worse than I thought...all appliances are gone, ceiling, roof, carpet, all the blinds melted throughout the house...all rooms are covered in smoke and ash....I have never seen anything like it...so so awful...and they do not have much money at all.
She just told me they were not even going to put lights on the house, buy them after the holiday when she could save some money....they are the nicest family, I could not stop crying after I saw it. If you know of anyone or any organization that helps victims of fire please let me know....Their computer, television, stereo, all gone....laundry, all their clothes that were in there are gone....What a horrible shame.....their Christmas tree, decorations, everything - gone....thank you, Nancy 813-417-7385
