Yours looks very similar to weedshare - same reliance on copy protection, no derivative works. Theirs has smarter DRM than yours - their users get 3 plays before having to pay. I'm not conviced that DRM reliance can work, myself. No, FAIRCOPY doesn't use any copy protection.
Copies are simply ciphered to distribute them, but once you get a copy and buy it, the deciphered copy is just a plain MP3 file (or PDF, or whatever) without restrictions.
