Web designers today will tell you that a web site needs to be user friendly. Web design is about giving people what they want and making their shopping experience as pleasent as posible. If they've done a good job building the site the user (customer) will enjoy the time spent there and will most likely return.

I'm sure I'm posting this on the wrong kind of bored, but perhaps someone computer savvy can help me. Anytime I go to save an image, such as a background....my computer saves it as a bitmap. The drop down box does not allow for any other option. This drives me crazy, as animated gifs are ruined in the process and all other files must be converted before I can use them. Internet explore 5.5 allows you to save a background in any format with the background save as option, however it could be that you file association has been altered and you may have to go in and change it. Try opening My Documents folder or any folder with a .jpg file in it, highlight it, and then from the menu click on view and then click options, then file type, then edit. In this area you can find your file type and edit it's file association (choose what program you want to open it with) and it will set that as your default program. Then go through the same proceedure for .gif files. That may fix your problem Erica. I hope so anyway. Good luck!

Im a bit new to web design but understand the reasons for setting up site structures and the methodologies of developing a site. Originally I did some mockup screens in photoshop of how I want my page to look like (quite detailed). My question is this: Can this mockup become my actual homepage by loading in the screen as an image and simply adding "hotspots" for each button and whatever other links are needed. Just interested to know why I can't as it would be a quicker option for me plus wouldn't it be a quicker page to load given that its only 1 image. Please help....cheers

In answer to yur question Jarrod. I say yes. You can map your buttons as hotspots or web links if your wish. Adobe Photo shop Image ready has that capability. Remember to save your image for web use so your image size will be smaller and not take long to load. For a small web site this is a quick and simple way to get the job done
