i bought one of these in japan when they came out. and they are just now becoming available through the gray market... like online retailers...

its a very cool piece of pop art toy/action figure tech. and def. worth the dough. i consider this more of a collectors item than a toy. i did build mine and its great!!! it even has a reverse beep like a trash truck or construction vehicle.

anyhow, if ya need anymore infos or want to get one, drop me a line... www.futureplastic.com. you can also go to the cube-works japan website for the cam-system robot... www.cam-system.jp

It looks a lot like Clango from Diesel Sweeties.

Ok, call me jaded - but for US$139, I expected a little
more. This small (8 inch) robot can walk forward, walk
backward, stop, and make a noise. The core functionality
is a cam that syncronizes the movement of legs and feet.
So, the motor turns and he walks. This is pretty much a
refinement of the small windup robots we've all seen.
It is cute, as they intended, but if I had $139, I'd put
it towards a Mindstorms kit.

On the other hand, the paper cutout model is kinda cool.
Download, print, cut and glue to assemble.
