The "regular" cyanoacrylate glues (Krazy Glue, Super Glue, etc.) contain methyl alcohol. Glues intended for closing wounds use butyl ester instead.
"Cyanoacrylates cure by a chemical reaction called polymerization, which produces heat. Methyl alcohol has a pronounced heating action when it contacts tissue and may even produce burns if the glue contacts a large enough area of tissue. Rapid curing may also lead to tissue necrosis." In small quantities such as those used for closing minor wounds, this is not such a big problem, but a medical-grade adhesive is still recommended for this purpose.
This info comes from a great page I googled up about the medical use of cyanoacrylate glues, which seems to go back to 1964 or even earlier: http://www.fensende.com/Users/swnymph/refs/glue.html

I believe any of the cyanoacrylate glues will work well for flesh to most anything. Johnson and Johnson now sells one over the counter explicitly for closing wounds.

KrazyGlue is probably the best known cyanoacrylate, but it is one of the more expensive. Shop around.

This site is awesome. It's been around on the net for a long time and pretty much unchanged - it's on memepool from July 1999.
Another useful simple site like this is isbn.nu, the book search site; it's from 1998.

Very nice! Now I know what to use on that hand-painted italian vase my aunt gave me.
Their "plastics" advice is probably safe, but won't work with everything. In building model rocket kits, I've had to deal with parts made of plastics that are hard to make paint stick to, much less glue.
