Who ever said there are no politics involed in High school sports. How could Eric Harner ever receive the A.G.Yealey award when he did not play a couple of games due to grades being not high enough to participate. I thought the award was to go to the player that had the best chance to continue his football career in college. The coaches should be ashamed of themselves for letting an atrocity like this happen. Everyone should write to the newspapers and something should be done. A.G. is probably rolling over in his grave.

from my information Eric Harner had the highest GPA among Senior football players this year by a half a point.

annomiss: The A.G. Yealy Award is only awarded to a senior in football (we had 6 this year to choose from) who can maintain a cetain GPA (not sure of the particular GPA). The player doesn't need to pursue football in college nor do they even need to attend college. I know a few recipents that never attended college. What you need to know about Eric Harner's academics is that this young man is taking a college level Math class in his senior year. He was having some difficulty during a one week period and was placed on academic suspension for 1 week after failing 1 test. Since then, I'm told, he has not failed. The policy that the football team follows for academic suspension is to sit out for 2 games or weeks. I have had the honor of meeting this young man. He is pleasant, kind and a very well mannered individual. I think he more than meets the criteria for the award. If you have any concerns please submit any questions to the people who voted for him. I believe that Mr. Leonard Potter heads up this group along with Coach Hull. As for A.G. rolling over in his grave, I don't doubt it after you misspelled his name.

I need to correct myself the proper spelling is A.G. Ealy. So sorry A.G.

  What's going on at Wogan's Drug Store. I went in after not being there for a very long time and I can't believe the changes. What a delight, its like a mini department store.They have absolutely everything. It will be a pleasure not having to run to Hanover or Westminster when I need to buy a gift especially with the Holidays approaching. It's the most conservative, sleepy place I have ever been to in my life. I have been forced to waste 5 years of my life here.
I am going to be happy to move to New York City this winter, where there will be diversity, liberalism, night life, and actual substance.
Littlestown has no nightlife, no blacks, no gays/lesbians, no culture, no nothing. All it has are old people, or people with very little ambition and closed minds living in the 1950s still.
Living here has been very damaging and stifling to my soul, and I'm so glad it'll be over shortly.

Valerian, you obviously don't attend Littlestown High School or even walk outside your front door and take a look around you. Because Littlestown does have blacks, gays, lesbians, and culture. As for nightlife, The Java House features live music, you should check it out! And if we were still living in the 1950's, let me tell you that this would be a great place, because I've been told that Littlestown used to be so much more of a town, it's a shame that it still isn't that way today. And as for closed-minded people, I believe you were refering to yourself, as you're obviously not open to exploring some more of our town before making such uneducated comments. But if you insist, go off to New York City, and I just hope that it doesn't disapoint.

Hello everyone in Littlestown. I have recently moved into this little quaint community and so far I am really enjoying the quiet, peaceful area. But I have a problem. Since I have moved here, I have tried many, many times to locate vounteer organizations or people who need help in this community. And to my surprise have not found anything at all. That's hard to believe. I'm sure there's many things that people can do to help out their neighbor, people in the community, the elderly and the list could go on and on.

So, I was wondering if anyone knows of the local Littlestown organizations, elderly, etc. that may need assistance? I really want to be involved in the community and help out in anyway possible.

Littlestown Area Historic Society Meeting.

L.A.H.S. Meetings

The first organizational meeting of the society will be held
on Tuesday, February 20th at 7:00PM in The Overflow Room of
Barts United Methodist Church. The Church is located at 50 East
King Street, Littlestown . The Third Tuesday of each month has
been set as a meeting date for the society. Formats for other
meetings has not been set. It is tentatively planned that once
established, these meetings will be used to present programs of
historical events.

Ideas for meetings of the L.A.H.S.

Meetings might be used to present historic information about a
 specific event, a specific building, a specific industry, a
specific person, or a specific method used in the Littlestown area
in the past. The meeting might be used to visit a specific landmark
locally or in Adams County. The meetings might be used to share
information from local writers or artist, or composers, who are using
their talents to bring the history of the Littlestown Area to the fore
front.

Directions to the LAHS meeting Room:

Enter Barts Centenary United Methodist Church through the front doors
on (50)East King Street. Once inside the entry proceed to the first
door on the left. This is the Overflow Room where our meetings will be
held.

permitting). The pool hours, daily admission and membership

my bird! I live on South Columbus Ave, near South Queen Street. He is
a cockatiel, gray with orange circles on his cheeks and a yellow
mohawk. His name is Tweet. If you happen to hear a bird whistling the "Andy
