Hi everyone, Jim WA1GPO loaned out an HF setup for my son KB1PTT and I N1UVW We are both Generals. We enjoyed HF so much we just purchased a used Icom IC-706mk11g. My question is what will I need for mobile operation. I have now a Yaesu ft-8900 quad band with a comet UHV-4 Antenna as my mobile. Will I need an antenna tuner or will a screwdriver type antenna be sufficient . I suppose I should have done a little homework before the purchase!. Thanks my eamail address is visualco2@yahoo.com

Brent: You need a special BNC connector for RG174U and a crimp tool.
We use these at work, I might be able to get some crimped on.
I also have a few BNC connectors made up on both ends of RG174. These are short lengths-you are welcome to them if you want them.

I'm looking for a reducer that will allow me to use RG-174 with a BNC connector. I've used reducers for RG-58 with the UHF connectors, but I haven't been able to find one for RG-174 & BNC; can anyone point me in the right direction? 73, Brent, W1NCH
