Kelly,
Go back to the first page of the website. There is this BIG link that says "Monday Night Party Info." If you click on that link, it will take you to the party page with directions.
See you at six. :)

Hey ladies...Susan I hear you about the size 0. I don't think it's that big of a deal either..sizes vary a lot now, I can wear anything from a 0 is shirts and dresses to sometimes having to buy an 8 in jeans....could things possible be sized any different from store to store...I think people justify making fun of small sizes, but they would never have made fun of a size 16!!!
Girls, kat and I both have cars to take anyone to the party. Our number is 589-2581, call us and we'll let you know on a common meeting place to pick you up.

Susan,
I just want to say that I don't think anyone was saying (or meant to say) negative things about people who wear size 0 clothes. I think what we were getting at is what the writer talked about in "Beauty and the Beast." Porter was talking about the tyranny of the fashion and advertising industries and how they oppress women and one way of doing that is by making clothing size "numbers" smaller and smaller. Size O jeans are new. There was no such number when I was growing up, even though there were plenty of women who wore size 0 then and long before now. I think what we were all saying is that most women cannot find clothing that fits because clothing manufacturers do not understand women's bodies. Instead they want to assign a number so that women will feel even worse about ourselves. The worse a woman feels, the more profits there are to be made.
I am sorry that you felt bad. I don't think that that was anyone's intention.

I'm working on the book. Girls ... (and Guy..lol) ... it is a BEAUTIFUL thing! Thank you for letting us use them.
Sorry for dogging anyone on the size 0 issue. It's just as wrong and hurtful as saying a size 14 ridiculous.
Thanks to everyone again for your essays!! :)

I am having a horrible week. It sucks having to be a scared female living in a house with a male. My roomate just started going crazy to the point where I feel threatened. I haven't been to my own apartment in like four days. I don't plan on going back until I have plenty of men with me to help me move out. I also felt a little bad today in class because I was sitting there in a size zero pants. I don't normally wear a zero. I wear a 2, but some stores just sell odd sizes. And I don't have an eating disorder, I kicked it almost a year ago.

I feel so bad. I really want to add my paper into the book, but I just don't have time to revise! There is a lot I want to do with my paper yet! grr! I just hope the book goes well. The readings today were interesting. I think the conversation will be a bit more fluent. Not like pulling teeth. Anyway. Wolf is everywhere. I did a paper about magazines and body image a couple of years ago and she has hundreds of pieces out. I really liked the one about dying hair. It was kinda sad, but an interesting take on the issue.
