I totally agree with kat about the presentations. for those of you who did not find something that was totally positive, it is unfortunate and it seems like you missed out on the whole point of the project. As for the overall class, i am really excited about a lot of women's issues that I wasn't before. I thought this class was going to be all negative and a "bitch fest". I am happy to walk away from the class enlightened with different ideas not only about women's bodies, but my own. this class was not easy for me, but it was worth the work to get the end result. thanks to everyone in sharing this experience with me in such an open-minded way. ajs

the presentations were very good overall, but i wished that there were MORE positive ones. It was obviious that many people looked hard for positive images of women and that they had to look far beyond mainstream media. as unfortunate as that is, it is still possible to find positive images in our society. there were quite a few presentations that focused on negative aspects and i wished there hadnt been. but each one was beneficial in its own way and thanks for the hard work!! i really learned a lot.
this class has enabled be to realize that i can liek myself for who i am and that other women have the same issues that i do...i am able to finally verbalize them and am on the way to accepting myself for who i am. thanks to all of u, esspecially christina, for being supportive and open minded!

women and writing was by far one of the hardest classes for me in terms of mental work. I found out many new things about myself and rediscovered parts of me that i have forgotten about. class discussions were totally honest. everyone was respectful towards each others opinions. I had the best time this session! thank you to christina for being such an incredible teacher too!! our class would not have been as wonderful with out her. HAVE A WONDERFUL REST OF THE SUMMER EVERYONE!

That was a great joke, thanks Angel Chan for sharing that with us. It was so funny, and with every that is funny there was so much truth to it. THis class was great, thanks everyone for being open and truthful. I used to think I was the only one having trouble finding clothes and now I know its not just me but it is all women. That makes me feel better to know it is not me that is messed up but the clothing factories that are screwed up. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their summer.

I,like everyone else, have really enjoyed this class. I have always been able to talk about these things, with only my very close friends, so its great to hear that others have the same hopes, anxieties, curosities that I do. It makes me feel closer to so many others, with not really being that close. I know that sounds odd, but its true. We have a hidden connection with each and everyone of us in this class. I met some really strong, beautiful, intelligent women from this class that I will always beable to look back too and realize that their is hope for womens rights and empowerment for the future. I wish everyone the best of luck in their self discovery journey that lies ahead of them. Take care everyone!! :)

This class has been great. I never used the word vagina very much, but every since I started this class I have caught myself using the word all the time. It's wierd actually, I used to be more comfortable saying the word penis than I did vagina. Why? I have one! I wish I could get credit for taking this class a second time. Unfortunately, that's not possible. See you all around campus. I'll be here through fall quarter.

This class has opened multiple personal doors for me. Now, more than ever I want to be LaToya. I know that I am okay. Everyone in the class has influenced me so much. I am glad that I was able to connect to people and put myself out in the open without fear or intimidation. Thank you for making it easier for me to look into the mirror.

Kelly, thank you for being honest & I am glad you are done with that jerk. Continue to love yourself, & that goes for everyone! Christina, thank you for being an excellent teacher & not caring what the professors say about you. Brant, thank you for being open-minded enough to stay in the class. To the rest of my classmates, thank you for opening up and sharing your experiences. I hope this class has taught everyone a little something about themselves, because I know I have. I hope we can all share our knowledge to those who really need it. Thanks again. . .

That's great Angel! :)

This post is to follow up my presentation today. I just wanted to say what a great time this class came along for me. As you can see from my very first post I registered for this class by mistake. So I can't really thank anyone for me being in it, except thanking Christina for having the intelligence and ideas to teach this class! I actually wish I hadn't takin it during the summer because it is over so quick!! :)
Right before this class started I had just gotten out of a relationship, and was at the lowest point with myself that I had ever been. Not because I was sorry it was over, but because of how I had let him make me feel during the time we were together. I was happy to be out but mad at myself for staying so long. I had no idea one person could have so much affect on what I felt about myself, and so quickly. I didn't think I was like that.
This class has turned around those feeling and has let me see myself even better than before. I am so happy I made this "mistake" and don't know where I'd be if I hadn't! :)Girls, don't ever let someone else tell you how to feel or make you feel bad about yourself. You are all wonderful and I wish we would all stay closr after this class, because I am sure you would all be great friends. Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoyed the song!!

Something funny:

Asking for a Raise
I, the Penis, hereby request a raise in salary for the following reasons: I do physical labor. I work at great depths. I plunge head first into everything I do. I do not get weekends or public holidays off. I work in a damp environment. I don't get paid overtime. I work in a dark workplace that has poor ventilation. I work in high temperatures. My work exposes me to contagious diseases.
Sincerely
The Penis

Dear Penis,
After assessing your request, and considering the arguments you have raised, the administration rejects your request for the following reasons: You do not work 8 hours straight. You fall asleep on the job after brief work periods. You do not always follow the orders of the management team. You do not stay in your designated area and are often seen visiting other locations. You do not take initiative - you need to be pressured and stimulated in order to start working. You leave the workplace rather messy at the end of your shift. You don't always observe necessary safety regulations, such as wearing the correct protective clothing. You will retire well before you are 65. You are unable to work double shifts. You sometimes leave your designated work before you have completed the assigned task. And if that were not all, you have been seen constantly entering, and exiting, the workplace carrying two suspicious looking bags.
Sincerely,
The Management
