We are going to be starting up a new ALR chapter here in Virginia and would like to know if anyone/another chapter has put together a good ALR manual for conducting meetings, duties of officers, organizing rides (procedures, hand signals, etc.). I moved up from Texas ALR and we had a real good manual for this, but it was taken from our meeting room. Before I go reinventing the wheel, I thought someone out there could help us out. Maybe you have one or know some website that has something we could use our at least build on. Thanks

You can contact me at jesterhd@cox.net

Jester, American Legion Riders website has everything you need on their website regarding meeting agendas, forms, officers etc. We found a good riders manual and course for Road Captains at our local Harley Davidson dealership, Patriiot /Fairfax and it is free

We have started a NORTHERN VIRGINIA Chapter of American Legion Riders sponsored by Post 177, Fairfax. We are not post exclusive. How are we to register with the Department of Virginia if at all? I have already sent in registration with the National ALR. We have 25 members presenlty and welcome any American Legion members to join us from the Northern Virginia region.

Mark you calendars now for the Ride Now Autism Poker Run cosponsored by the folks at Northern Virginia and at Post 177. July 22nd is the date. The run will start at JVs Restaurant 6666 Arlington Blvd in Falls Church and will end at the Legion Post 177 in Fairfax. The Northern Virginia American Legion Riders will be helping in the organization of the run and in the "after party" at the post. Live band, food, bike washes by the hogettes and hooters girls, and icy cold beverages will all be available. Several custom builders and other vendors have also expressed interest in being on hand. Make plans to be there and support this very worthy cause. We are honored to have been asked to help this cause. This is a NATIONAL event with other runs scheduled in Philly, LA, and Chicago throughout the year. For information and registration go to www.canridenow.org. Please help us and Cure Autism Now by spreading the word about this event and this worthy cause.
