The television conversion from analogy to digital is another Government rip off to make the rich richer. I have researched this and what they are not telling us is that you will need a converter box for each television and each VHS recorder and any other analogy device that you may have. The tuner on all your analogy devices will no longer work. You will not be able to change the channel on the front of your television or recorder with the remote that came with them; it has to be done with the remote to the converter box. You will not be able to record one show while watching another on the television; it will require a converter box on each one. The converter box only passes one channel through it at a time. I am on an antenna and cannot afford cable or satellite as many lower income people. I have three older televisions and three recorders that will require a converter box for each one, and they only give coupons for two converter boxes.
Since day one of the FCC it has been their mandate that everything has to be backward compatible, the first radio and the first television still must work with the current broadcast signal. By changing this they have sold out the public for corporate profit.
I hope you will inform everyone affected that the television adds are very misleading and not telling the whole truth about what is going to happen on Feb. 17th 2009.
