So BBEdit is only a decade or so behind Emacs, now? Wow, making progress. ;-)

I'd like autocomplete better if there were a way to keep it from completing a word that I want to leave shorter. For instance, if "boingboing" is in my autocomplete list, then if I want to type "boinged", no problem; but if I type "boing" then it will complete "boingboing" without any further effort from me. That's fine if I want "boingboing"; but if I don't, and I'm not looking at the screen, oops.

Nope, you have to explicitly trigger completion with a hotkey.
I'm with Cory, completion is cool. It's one of the reasons I like tcsh so much.
OK, now somebody has to post about how deluded I am and how much better completion is in bash/zsh/abcdefgsh. Perhaps we could combine that with an emacs/BBEdit thrash. (Me, I use both.)
