I'm not in Austin, but I love seeing this kind of message. The folks at the IETF discovered the wonderfulness of temporary nets like this a few years ago, and it has massively changed the way that meetings go (mostly for the better). One downside is that you as a speaker can tell if you are boring because everyone is reading their email. Someone even suggested that little meters be put on the base stations that showed how much traffic is on the ports for HTTP and POP...
