Dear Josie We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in 1995 and can assure you that you will have a wonderful time when you revisit Highland Glen Lodges. The views are still as stunning - absolute peace and quiet are guaranteed as is a warm welcome. We look forward to hearing from you.

I went with my parents and sister to Highland Glen Lodges in 1995 when Sandy and his wife were running them. It was and still is the best holiday I have ever had. Now I have my own brood and both my parents, my sister and I are planning to book up for next year, let's hope we can recapture that moment in time.

Just booked for 2 weeks in July '07. This will be our 3rd visit and it can't come soon enough. Those lodges are just perfect, set in the most beautiful position, exactly the right recipe for relaxation.
I'll be there for my birthday this year, and can't think of a place I'd rather spend it.
Roll on July!!!
Pete, Andrew and the mad Spaniels are champin' at the bit too LOL!!

It's us again, back to tell you how WONDERFUL our two-week holiday at Highland Glen Lodges at the end of August was. This was our third successive year of holidaying at the Lodges (Lodge 5, of course!) and it was as wonderful and inspiring and refreshing as if it had been our first visit. We just love the area so much. There are always new things to discover. This year we visited, amongst many other places, Dunrobin Castle - just a few miles up the road from the Lodges - and a breathtakingly beautiful place. Well worth a visit. We went 'right up north' and saw the Castle of Mey, which belonged to the late Queen Mother - outstanding. We walked all the way to the top of Ben Bhraggie near Golspie to see the towering memorial to the 1st Duke of Sutherland - definitely worth the effort for the views, if nothing else. And, if you're into Whisky, why not pay a visit to the Clynelish Distillery just up the road at Brora. We had a fantastic, informative tour and got to taste the end product, a bottle of which somehow made its way home with us! And, if all that were not enough, at the end of day you come back to your 'home from home', your Highland Glen Lodge, and to the unsurpassed care and attention of your hosts extraordinaire, Howard and Judith. Thanks again, friends, for a wonderful holiday. We shall be back. See you next year! Love, Scott and Ros.

Yipppeeee we're headed back in a couple of weeks time - so looking forward to a return visit.
We went somewhere else back in May, the west coast that time - just made me appreciate all the wee extras and care put into the accomodation at HGL.
Other places are shabby in comparison. *jumpin' up and down here*

Great to see the same high standards since our last visit 3 years ago. This is the perfect place to relax, boredom is not an option as scenery is never the same each time you look out the panoramic window of the lounge. We had great times on Dornoch beach while watching the seals basking on Loch Fleet was amazing. A trip to Ullapool is a must. The week just flew past. Thank you Judith and Howard, we'll definitely be back soon.

We had our second two-week holiday in Lodge 5 back in August and returning to Highland Glen Lodges was like 'coming home'! The lodges continue to delight us and the local area is breath taking. There is so much to do and, for the second year running, we came back with things still to do and places still to go. So, you guessed it, we're already booked in for August 2006! Howard and Judith are extraordinarily gifted hosts, making everyone feel welcome, ensuring that the lodges are spotlessly clean and always standing by to offer help and advice when it's needed. Thank you both. See you in August 2006 - we're already talking about it and looking forward to it! Scott & Ros

We have just arrived home from our wonderful week in lodge 3.
The lodges and area far outweighed our expections.
Judith and Howard have obviously worked extremely hard to make the lodges as comfortable as they are.
We will definately be going back - the sooner the better.
Don't just think about it - book it, you'll not be sorry.

We're just back from a week in Chalet 3 and would like to compliment Howard and Jude on the excellent accommodation and facilities they provided. After each long day in the hills and touring around, we always looked forward to coming "home" to the chalet to relax and prepare the next days activities. The children loved the chalet and were sad to leave, which is definitely a good sign. I have no hesitation at all in recommending Highland Glen Lodges to anyone.

We stayed at the Lodges from 14-28 August 2004 and had the most enjoyable holiday that we have ever had. We found Howard and Jude delightful - ever willing to help and advise. Nothing was too much trouble. The lodge was well decorated with breathtaking views, no matter the weather. We were in Lodge 5 and it was lovely to have the sheep look in each evening! The Lodge was clean, well equipped and very, very homely. Whilst there is lots and lots to do in the area, we enjoyed the Lodge so much that we spent a couple of days of our holiday sitting in so that we could read, doze and enjoy the views. I'm glad to see that availability for 2005 is now on the web site. We'll be booking again soon! Thanks Howard and Jude for an absolutely wonderful holiday. Keep up the good work! Scott & Ros

Thanks Chris for your super photos which we plan to use in our new brochure - we will be in touch. As to the problem with e mails, we were unable to adopt the former address used by Sandy but the current address is 'highlandglenlodges@fsmail.net' which will find us
best wishes Howard and Jude

I don't know if the man's name is Hector, but the Pittentrail pub in Rogart is very nice, good food at very reasonable prices, warm welcome and good service too. One piece of advice though - do book in advance! We were turned away the first two visits we made, but booked in for the following three, and were glad we did, he was fully booked on all of those occasions.

We used to holiday here a couple of times a year up until 2 years ago. We've been to a couple of places in the meantime, but we've just booked to come again. Nowhere can match it. For pure peace and relaxation it is perfect, likewise, if you want to do something during your stay. I don't know if Hector still owns the pub in Rogart, I hope he does, because you won't get a warmer welcome anywhere else. I am so looking forward to it.

Just returned from a fantastic fortnight at the Highland Glen Lodges. 29th May - 12th June 2004. It was our first stay, but surpassed all our expectations. The lodge was of a high standard, and clean, well-equipped and homely. The views from the living room were fabulous. We saw Golden Eagles on two occasions, and rabbits, sheep, cattle and a huge variety of birds on a daily basis. We also spotted deer on our way up to Durness, a colony of seals and a minke whale at Gill Bay near John O'Groats. More seals at the nearby Loch Fleet, and dolphins in the bay at Fortrose on Black Isle. We both have limited mobility so couldn't get to the cliffs where the puffins were on full view, but despite this handicap we still managed to see and do lots of things, waterfalls, castles, scenic drives, a truly memorable holiday. It was a 700 mile drive each way, but well worth the effort.

We stayed at Highland Glen Lodges last week (9.8.03-16.8.03). We were very impressed with the standard of accommodation and the cleanliness of the Lodge. The video library and washing machine with dryer were very useful. We received a warm welcome from Sandy Mathieson and found him to be very approachable when we required any information. We hope to stay again in the future and admire that fantastic view once more. Well done to Sandy and his team.
