Our business line has a similar problem with a chat line number. People call the chat line, but our phone rings - not always, but 4-8 times a day. There are some people who regularly get through to us (we have caller ID).

Multiple requests to Qwest for repair of the issue have yielded nothing. It's a chore just to explain what is going on - I inevitably get the "we can't keep people from dialing wrong numbers". I even called the chat line and told them that they were losing customers, hoping they would put the pressure on to get it fixed.

The other night when some girl said she had the wrong number i almost said "you want to make it a right one?" someone help me before it's too late.

why are these systems so horribly broken that problems like this can not be fixed?
