If anyone is looking for free internet access you can get NetZero by going to http://www.netzero.net or http://dl.netzero.net/pub/netzero/quickstart/NetzeroSetup.exe Netzero provides internet for up to 10 hour per month, after 10 hours you can only check e-mail. If you want UNLIMITED CHEAP internet you can go to http://www.access4less.net/indexgo.htm and get internet access for only $4.95 per month!

One of the primary concerns all small businesses have is saving money. When it's time to trim the fat, most look for one giant expense to decrease or eliminate in order to stay within budget. More often than not, it doesn't work that way.

Most budgeting experts will tell you that re-evaluating your overall expenses and cutting each by just a bit will actually gain you more ground than doing without something major that you really need. Here are a few ideas of areas to look at and costs to reduce that can have a major impact on your overall profits.

Internet Access - Every online business owner must have access to the Web. But consider this. The market is so flooded with ISPs that you have a lot of room to dicker. Start by searching the Internet under keywords like "cheap internet access" or "discount isp" to bring up lists of possibilities. Then, do one of two things:

(a) Try some of these independent ISPs. Smaller companies can have high quality service and support just like the "big boys". One business owner I know recently switched from Prodigy ($21.95/mth) to a smaller ISP that only charges $12.50/mth with no contracts. She actually liked the new provider better and it costs her about half as much. [Savings of $113.40 per year.]

(b) Renegotiate with your existing ISP. Most larger ISPs know you have a choice of a thousand other companies. Because of this, they are normally more than willing to renegotiate your costs. Be honest. Tell them you are a small business owner and you need to cut expenses. Explain that you've been pleased with their service but will be forced to go with someone else if some sort of arrangement isn't worked out. Another friend of mine did this and received 6 months free! Most will offer 2-3 months free and/or a discount with an annual agreement. NOTE: When you approach your ISP, be fully prepared to switch to someone else if your offer is rejected. [Savings of $105.80 per year with 3 months free and reduced, annual rate.]

Just an advice...

I recently investigated about this "free internet service providers". I called to my telephone company and asked them about this services. I contacted this "Free ISP"
http://123act.com/ and this is the result:

-To: <freeisp@123act.com>
Subject:
Date: Tuesday, June 08, 2004 12:45 PM

Hi! I called my telephone company and asked them about this free internet access companies giving it away for free to users and told me "there is no such free internet access providers but liers. Nothing is free. What this companies do is stealing people's money." I gave them my phone number and the company's free phone number for a free local number in my area and checked them up in their computer machines and told me that local number would charge 3 cents per minute for being online because that local number or company was out of 12 miles more of my own area for no charges. They also told me that dialing that local number may vary or change from another dialing number or connecting to another dialing number and that way charges would take effect on my own telephone company. My questions are - will your company be charging me that way? Is it really, really true to believe what you guys are offering to us "the users"? Is your company a secure way for free internet access provider? Should we trust you or being confidence for your free service and not being charged at all? Thanks for your patience. I hope you understand my questions cause i am not a good writer. I'll be waiting for your reply.-

My advice:

Watch out! If you wanna try one this companies, keep in mind that you will be charged in any or other ways. the guy who i spoke to from my telephone company told me there are many people calling the company they have been charged $80 or higher for using this kind of companies. I would recommend using a low cost company-internet service provider like netzero, juno or copper. you can surf unlimited times worldwide. Please! call your telephone company before using this "Free ISPs" or charges will take effect on your bills.

Thank You.

Hey Barbara - Have you tried Juno and Access4free? They both give you 10 hours a month for free. Go there and see if they have free numbers in your area. www.juno.com and www.access4free.com. If you write your emails offline (in your notepad) and then copy and paste them to your Yahoo email or any other online free email, you can pretty much do a lot online in 20 hours a month. Or, if you have Eudora or Outlook Express, you can just write your emails offline and they will send them automatically when you go online. It saves a lot of online time when you do that.

I tried everything I could think of to find one
for you, and it just looks like there isn't one
there. There may be some low cost ones there, at
least lower than they charge here in the states.

I found a website you may be interesting in
pursuing. They say -

At present, about 1.35 million Mexicans have
Internet accounts, but nearly 2.7 million people
use the Internet either at home or in cybercafes.
Terra is the second biggest access provider in
Mexico, with 28 percent of the market (380,000
accounts)—more than half of which are free
Internet accounts.

Go check it out at:

joe, do not get the free juno service. it is a ploy. you get riddles with annoying ads, which can sometimes block the task bar. the most annoying thing is that you have a hard time connecting and constantly get kicked off. it is a ploy to get you to sign up for their plantinum service. plus in the fine print it says you have to pay a fee per minute for technical suppoet. keep looking!

Has anyone had experience with Access-4-Free.com? After signing up and being charged the one-time set-up fee of $4.95, I haven't been able to make a connection. They advertise FREE On-line Support and charge $4.95 per call for phone support. I also have a cable modem, so I attempted to contact them at their website. Nette - I have lots of AOL disks and will mail you one if you send me an email: lttlgal@email.com and tell me which version you prefer. They give you one month of free service. You just need to call them and discontinue if you don't want to keep them. Don't use the newest one if your computer is old, because the newer versions take too much memory and cause problems for you. The older versions will work tho.

If you are near a Staples, Office Depot, Wallmart or many other places, they stock the AOL disks. Check around your area even in odd places. They have sprinkled the whole earth with these disks. You may even have some friends who have received them in the mail. I get them all the time. AOL gives you one month for free, and in the meantime, you will be able to download other free isps, if you want, such as: www.netzero.com, www.access-4-free.com, many of the freenets, if you have them in your area and test them out. You can run them all simultaneously on your computer, if you have a large enough hard disk. Also, be sure to bookmark these free isp sites: http://nocharge.com/content/faq.asp http://www.freecenter.com/dialup.html
http://auto.search.msn.com/results.asp?cfg...D&v=1&q=free+dialup
http://www.google.com/search?q=%22free+dialup%22

New services startup all the time. Search for them regularly.

Yes, Bluelight is now a pay service at www.bluelight.com. I tried it and couldn't get it to work at all. We worked for 3 months with their tech people with no success, and it had worked fine for me when it was free. Go figure!

Does anyone know anything about the changes being made with "BlueLight"? I heard that it's no longer free.
