/m49434 wiz..........we do not let offices change any routes within their representative month at all. outside their representative month, they have to get our approval to move addresses from route to route (minor changes)(1 loop usually - ex. 20 stops). any resequencing within the route may be done at the local level.

mainspark /m49421 Although I have not tested it, but if your route is being re-adjusted after the DEAT team worked it, talk to your steward. I am of the belief that it is in violation of the spirit of M-1703 for management to adjust the routes, when the DEAT is reviewing and re-adjusting the routes now. I am a DEAT.

SFO-General /m49432 Why would you smile all the way to the bank if you don't want the OT?

mainspark /m49421 What you are looking for is in Route Protection Handbook, Chapter 1 Section D: Street Time. Here is the excerpt. Also in M-39. INTRODUCTION On the day of inspection you will carry your route as usualwith one exception: The route examiner, clipboard and pen in hand, will follow you around the entire day and observe every detail as you deliver your route. The examiner will also take notes on a special form, the Form 3999. Deliver the route as usual. The most important thing about the street inspection is this: You should deliver your route in precisely the same manner as you do throughout the rest of the year. There are a few additional things you should know about the street portion of the route inspection. ROUTE EXAMINER CONDUCT The route examiner must follow some rules while observing you on the street (See Footnote 3). Observe, not supervise. The examiner must act as an observer and not a supervisor. You should not be told to change the way you usually deliver your route.

/m49425 /m49426 This would be considered Holiday Scheduling under Article 11, as union guy stated. You could argue the point in Article 8, but I would venture to guess you would lose that one. Under Holiday scheduling they must follow the pecking order and N/S under Contract is before Holiday carrier unless your LMU says otherwise.

/m49425 /m49426It is in the National Agreement 8.5.c.2 in the JCAM Overtime and Annual Leave. Normally, employees, including employees on the Overtime Desired List, who have scheduled annual leave, including incidental annual leave, immediately preceding and/or following non-scheduled days will not be required to work overtime on the non scheduled days. However you are being scheduled under Article 11 not Article 8. But I would still argue that this still applies

curious 1- It is in our local here too. They cannot force you to work your N/S if it follows or precedes A/L day. Check with your union.

curious 1 /m49422 What does your local say? Maybe that is what the older carriers is talking about. Our local has it so you can't be forced to work a day off if it is in conjunction with a/l.

curious 1 /m49422 -- in this case, the older carrier is wrong. The contract says they are required to post a holiday schedule, not tell you personally, and therefore it is your responsibility to check it. If you don't go to work Tuesday you will be AWOL, and that is not good at all. Holiday schedules have to be posted Tuesday in the prior week, and so it is not a good idea to make plans until you know you are actually off. How did a new carrier make regular so fast?

egark m/49411 yes I'm a new carrier, I have AL for Monday, with a Tuesday off day, with Wed. being a holiday I was going out of town. friend said that my name was on the holiday schedule to work my off day Tuesday. I'm not on the OT list so I did'nt even look at the holiday schedule. my friend says the holiday is for the day before not for the day of the holiday. one of the older carriers says I'm not required to look at the schedule, as a reg. i have a permanent schedule and Sup. should have told me that I was scheduled to work Tues. if necessary. I don't know whether to go in Tues. or not. don't want to get in trouble but want to make this trip, that's why i took mon. off
