curious 1: The craft employees who are scheduled to be off on the Holiday, are given another day to be off. Myself, Wed. is my non-scheduled day therefore, I will be off on Tuesday for my day off and Wed, for the holiday. That coupled with all offices being understaffed, and some craft emplyees still on annual leave, makes it tricky to schedule in conjunction with various National Agreement provisions. Some mandate the person who is on N/S to work over, and some who are scheduled to work thier holiday to work over. If I work overtime on Tuesday, it will not be paid at the time and half rate since I will get paid for the holiday anyway, I will just make an extra 8 hours pay.
egark is also correct, some offices will still staff, and some box mail will be made available for those customers. The trucks still keep running and the mail processing will still be done for Thursday.
