rgdamblr /m49801 -- I wouldn't mind working some N/S days, here in the northeast the extra $$$ would be nice. But, I have worked two N/S days in 2009, and one of them was a holiday schedule.

FTR /m49802 -- incidental leave should be covered by the LMU.

Same thing about NS days here. PM refuses to grant any incidental AL because he would have to use OT to cover it. He claimed it was a district policy but when the DRT investigated they said no such policy existed.

/m49799 our area has the same type of request on NS for 6 months or so. That being said no one ever gets them off. Our local Pm doesn't even contact the PooM anymore about it. Were a small office 12 routes no extra bodies. only PTF, me, is on a T6 swing so when 2 people are on vacation both N/S get forced in.

Now this is supposed to change finally gonna get a couple TE's they claim. Won't be until the holidays, but with no penalty they don't care how much we work in December.

Not here, today was the first time in I can't even remember someone was called back to work on their NS day. The postmaster " claims" he was told noway and if the circumstance does call for it he has to ask a week in advance and submit data that substantiates the need to the MPOO. On a side note I do believe our postmaster is Native American and goes by the name " squats to piss".

mailman_12_3 /m49788 Wow, that would be nice. We have to work out NS all all the time.

Thanks wiz: 879 says "if they are not available to work the entire guarntee" I told the 204b (carrier) who could work instead of me, that I was not available. We will see what happens today. Thanks again

dgrimmreaper /m49793 sucks doesn't it. The USPS is desperately trying to find positions for carriers and clerks being excessed all over the country so that they don't have to lay anyone off. Unfortunately, this means withholding for long periods of time. I hope the union doesn't agree to this too much longer. It is causing too much short staffing and mandatory overtime in too many offices with no end in sight which is increasing stress levels in a lot of places. At some point, they need to start promoting PTFs and filling these positions.

what is the deal with the withholding of regular positions for us ptf's. we have 7 vacant routes and have been vacant for a year and still not regular slot for me. This is bullshit

Is it worth sending a case to Formal A when the settlement for a letter of warning is either official discussion or to rescind and expunge?

mailman_12_3: I do have the MPOO's cell phone #. I am going to wait to see what is said tomorrow. I told the 204b that I was not available. If I have to, I will call the MPOO. Don't like that, but we beat our heads on a wall in my office. Our PM is like wiz's, it is her way or the highway.
