talk blogging has been set up for discussion about ANYTHING to do with blogging...what tools you like, hosting services, advertising, etc. It's a companion site to my complete guide to weblogs

Just wondering if there are any more detailed discussions on switching from Blogger to MT? I've just spent days setting up class blogs for my students, but I'm willing to investigate if it gives me some more options.

I will just say, for what it's worth, that I consider myself well aware of how to set permissions and I know how my directory structure works...but I spent HOURS trying to set up Movable Type and couldn't get it to work at all. I still love Blogger.

Upsaid is a new weblog/newslog hosting service and is worth a look. It has lots of useful features.

SnorComments has died, but there is now SnorComments2 - a script programmed in perl that can be run on most web servers with cgi capabilities. It can be used for adding a commenting feature to Blogger.com blogs

I can't seem to add comment tools for my blog. I think the most webmaster-friendly comment system is YACCS but their not accepting new users as of the moment. Can anyone help me with aspcomments? Don't understand it ... I'm not really a developer.

I use Yaccs but I just came across this:

http://www.tecknik.net/blogback/

Maybe that will help you get comments?
