I don't think it's a fixed fee. The more the commercial's played, the more they're paid.
And if "whiskey/lager drink" were the only words to that song, I'd agree with you.

Yeah, "I drink a whiskey drink, I drink a lager drink" sure is anti-global!
Funny how the amount they received from GM keeps going up. The first report I saw said $70K, now it's $100K. Next thing you know, it'll be ONE MILLION DOLLARS.

i wonder if they'll market their next CD with a little sticker that says, "from the GM commercial" like they do with VW-ad-stars Nick Drake, Stereolab, and the rest. it could be a cool Trojan Horse, where GM-loving schmucks buy the CD to get the single and then get whapped with a load of anti-global ideology.
