As stated previously, the trials have to be done as ONE tournament so speculation on who should have their own trials etc is a little pointless.
It was decided by the full committee (that is the Exec, the team managers, any co-opted members and all league reps) that the trials should be held in October/November - as last year.
This means that everyone who bothers to go to the meetings (or lobbies there league rep)has had approx 6 chances to get it changed - I haven't heard anyone try until now!!!!! Aint it just a little late???
We have to try to do the best FOR THE WHOLE COUNTY, that was behind the change in the first place and if it becomes obvious that this is not the best time then it would change again. Unfotunately, so far I have only heard versions of "it would be better for me" and as this is for everyone we have to think wider than that.

Phil,

Its the under 18's who did the biz this year in the countys, so really if anyone should have there own, it should be us the yascs and the adults and let the seniors go it alone

where exactly in the ICC rules does it say that you can't split the trials by age group? Because in one way you are already splitting the trials by holding it at two centres in two different months, so if you can split it that way then why not by age group as long as you give everyone the same chance of qualifying.

The reason that the trials are not being split age wise as far as I know, is that the committee have taken the decision that it is better for the kids, to give them something to aim at with bowling against the adults. Any adult should have the concentration power to bowl with juniors, and not get put off, and we do get a whole centre to ourselves for the second set of games.
Look people, let's just say that this is the way the trials will be this year, but PLEASE, next year, if you think the trials should be done differently, TELL SOMEONE IN PLENTY OF TIME!! Come to the quarterly meetings, or tell your centre rep. If you really are a lancashire bowler, there is one at most centres, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get hold of one, and mentioning gripes at this late stahe is pointless.

Thanks Rachel - that saved me saying it again lol.
After discussion with the ICC Tournament manager on the point of splitting the trials I was imformed that they must held as one event but that it was acceptable that they could be held over more than one centre over more than one date providing that it did not stretch beyond "a reasonable period". The reasonable period was described as around a month. We have stayed as close to that as possible given availability of lanes and other tournaments. As I said earlier and Rachel has reiterated - the time to complain was last year, not now. If you wish to see the date changed come to the meetings or get someone to come on your behalf. Put yourself our for once if you feel strongly about it, please don't just moan and expect everyone else to run round after you.

Since I was about 14 ive bowled for the county, on a few occasions ive represented more than 1 squad. If they were split by squads then the cost would be massive!

This year ill be trying for YAC's and the adults again. So any of you people that think it should be split by age, you can fund it for myself and all the other people that want to try for more than 1 squad

To answer your question why i did'nt make it is that sometimes you dont always bowl your best over 6 games as has been said many times before and i'm no different to anyone else. I think the format now will give everybody a totally fair chance of proving whether they are good enough over two centers and 16 games.

Stop moaning all you Juniors , YACS and Seniors as far as i can see you have the best of all worlds. You can all play in the adult team if you qualify but I as an adult cannot play for the juniors , the YACs or the seniors (don't think there is an equal opp's policy there some how). So think yourselfs lucky that you have so many opportunities whereas I only have one. Stick to your own teams and give everyone a chance of making at least one team!!!!

Well done and keep it up Jo!!!! Glad to see another lancs bod doing so well.

Speaking of Lancs bods, I would just like to say an enormous CONGRATULATIONS to our girl Zara Glover, who is Singles, Doubles and All Events World Champion, and she has also got a silver in the trios event as well, just to top things off. Best of luck for the Masters Zed, I am sure everyone wishes you all the best in the world!!!

See what lancashire can do when we put our minds to it!!! :-)
