Now please. Can people stop trying to tear us down? It is like you don't want us to do well. We are the squad, we are the ones going to the counties, and if we don't have everyone's support, then what reason, apart from ourselves and the managers,do we have for winning the counties? Certainly not the thanks of some memebers of this county.

Hi everyone been reading all these messages about county bowlers etc.. I myself didn't trial this year, but I will be at the next trials. I will however be traveling next month to support the lancs squad (good luck Lancs) as my wife is part of the squad. As there's two of us we cannot go bowling in competitions and also bowl in leagues at our local centres week in week out because we have other commitments, so we choose our competitions and save up for them. We both have just bowled in the same competition has Kirsten Penny, Steve Thornton, Lisa Gardner just to name a few and we will both be bowling in the British Open we may not be has experienced has some bowlers but we do have the commitment

Just the facts
What makes you feel you have a right to demand answers from someone when you dont even give your own name, stand up and be counted then you may have that right.
Alphabet (not going through all that lot ) not clever or funny.
Mr C
Thanks for you comments and support - you are not the only ones who pick and choose for financial or time reasons, something that some people find hard to understand as they are obviously never short of either (except when it comes to going to meetings or doing anything for the county - or am I being a little hard on them there)

just been reading some of the trash that these bowlers under
assumed nicknames have been putting up. Maybe a lot of us dont like the team that has been picked..but firstly they are the ones that got in the top 15 so you have to respect that, i would have liked to have been there with them.
These bowlers will do there very best for lancs as i know i have done when putting on the shirt, and they will give the all. So instead of knocking them please give them your support they are travelling a long way to do it(god only knows why they have to go that far for a regional game)
I have'nt been able to play in any of the roses matches as i have been playing in senior comps all over the place, but if i get aweek free from them i will.

Thanks for your support and usual straight talk Mo.
Bedford as a venue has already been queried and an official complaint sent to the BTBA. The country is split north and south and the large number of southern counties means that some are included with the north - so Bedford is officially in the north ???????
There is nothing we can do about it this year but I have been promised that it will be farther north (possibly Lancs) next year.

HA THAT WILL INTERESTING THEN, WE CAN ALL SIT BACK AND LISTEN TO ALL THE COMMENTS THAT THE NORTH WEST CANNOT PROVIDE A CENTRE APART FROM PRESTON THAT WILL PUT A CONDITION DOWN THAT'S NOT CLASSED AS BEING DRY! THAT SHOULD THOUGH GIVE US AN AVANTAGE AS WE HAVE MANY DRY LANE EXPERTS.

lol don't knock it Mark - any advantage is worth having - even if it is being able to get up that few hours later to bowl. I have to say I feel conditions in the county are getting better - we are getting a lot less complaints and even a few compliments for various centres, You never know- another year and we might even get it right :o).

Mad Mark Don't forget Lancashire recently hosted a round of the North Regional Senior Inter Counties in which the ladies qualified for the Final in Croydon later in the year.

I have been very quiet throughout the period in which the format of the Trials has been debated, and this may be deemed to be twelth hour stuff, but here goes...

If the adult section of the trials is to be a multi-centre, multi-session qualifier I harbour concerns that we will effectively exclude a number of members from taking part. I can understand the logic in a more challenging trials and I will be the first to hold my hand up in that I have no magic solution, otherwise I would have recommended it in the past few years that I have been involved.

My idea is that we check whether the trials can also be a tournament, and if so run a parallel competition for the best 4 consecutive scratch game scores in a set, with it's own separate prize fund. This way adults who cannot make both sessions or who feel the cost of multi sessions is prohibitive but who fancy a crack at the comp may still bowl, should add a bit of interest for all in any case.

My thinking was aimed at the Adult section but I suppose it carries for all, a separate prize for each section.

Well now you know while I've been quiet so long, it is getting to me.

Oh and to all involved in the Grand Prix Doubles, respect.

Bryan, I believe it has to be trials only and cannot be part of another competition. That idea was well talked over as spreading the load that way seemed a good solution but BTBA rules say otherwise - sorry.

Phil

Can you tell me if all the bowlers in the 2 squads are available, as in previous comps in the past people haven't been able to make it. Has anybody pulled out of the comp this week for lancashire.

Good Luck this weekend to both teams.
