There's something to be said for having hard data to back up anecdotal stories. It's the studies that turn up the exception to the rule or the counterintuitive data that are the most useful, but you've got to keep collecting data and experimenting to turn that stuff up. It cost me about 15 auctions to learn the information in that article, but I'm a little slow.
