finalscratch requires two turntables, and of course you'll want 1200s - so there's at least $600-800 right there. Then you'll need a laptop capable of running finalscratch - think at least $1200. And you still don't have finalscratch itself - which is another $500. So all told you're looking at at least $2500 in equipment costs - that doesn't count the mixer, but since you need one for either solution it doesn't affect the price difference. Those decks probably cost about a grand a piece, so my guess is they're around $500 less than finalscratch. Of course, if you already own turntables and a laptop, finalscratch is much cheaper.
And if you're a touring DJ, it's a hell of a lot easier to carry a book of CDs (or SD cards now, apparently) than it is to try and wire your finalscratch rig into some club's mixer.
on the other hand, finalscratch does have the advantage of being exactly like vinyl - it remains to be seen how well this new deck will emulate it, but I put my money on finalscratch being closer to the interface we all know and love.
