I love the look; I find the fact that someone can publish in this way quite exciting... but, the story failed to engage me. It takes a special talent to turn teen angst into a page-turning engine.

Ok, actually, I gave it a second shot and got through it. The first volume is really hard to get through, but hey, the 1999 version of Jamie in volume 2 is actually pretty interesting. Amazing how hard it is to express angst interestingly, I guess.
I recommend getting through the annoying self-doubt parts, it actually starts to get somewhat interesting after that. I retract my earlier statement.

Wise - Agreed, It appears that you had to have the BIG Smiths or Bauhaus poster on your wall to enjoy all the "nobody loves me" crap.

Very pretty comic, Scott McCloud's been hyping this one up (on TV, even) for over a year now. It's very nicely drawn.
But, man, depressed, angsty, gothy kids who whine a lot do not make an enjoyable comic reading experience. I couldn't get through it.

Like the presentation. Know any other good web comics do something similar?

The dialogs get a little weird with all the "uh"s and "um"s, and the teen-angst thing is.. ah. I dunno, reading it now just to see what happens.

Neat concept and artwork, but geez, it sure doesn't seem to go anywhere.
