The design for the robot, bunny ears and all, is pretty much a skeletal ripoff of Briareos, Deunan's cyborg partner in Masamune Shirow's manga, Appleseed.

There's no "bullet time" in this astonishingly plausible video-- just slow motion when the robot gets plugged by an RPG. There is still such a thing as slow motion, you know. Mustn't overcorrect.

That is seriously dope. I can overlook the lack of rocketpacks and flying cars if I have these in the future.

I think that's because it was probably mo-capped of a human being.

However, since he's clearly based off this guy, those bunny ears should have eyes at the end.

It's a great work nonetheless, although I too wish they removed the "bullet-time" scenes.

Maybe the robot was supposed to be controlled by telepresence, rather than AI.

Neat. But why doesn't it have "eyes" on both sides of the head? There is nothing more ridiculous than seeing a robot look over its shoulder.

oh wow, that is really awesome! i think it would have been more effective if they hadn't used the "bullet-time" effect in a couple spots, but other than that, completely realistic, and spooky.

I think the direct link on the main page needed to lose the trailing period.

Update: Looks like the link has been fixed.

Nope. Not loading for me either. Another case of somebody trying to look slick on the Web, and winding up looking stupid.

For some reason, I couldn't get there directly either. Xeni's got the URL right, though. Must be some goofy scripting.

Go to http://www.theembassyvfx.com/ and then navigate to "Neill's Domain" (bottom of the scrolly crap on the left). The robot video is "REEL PT3" in the scrolly crap on the right.

I don't see the video. Am I just not observant, or is it gone?
