I don't know which is the really big one, but this PDF:

http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Apr2003/030411-D-6570C-002.pdf

has a really nice Defense Intelligence Agency seal watermark
background. Wouldn't it be nice to have that separate from the
cards? It is right there in the PDF as a 1001x1001 jpg,
although it is a CMYK jpeg which is pretty difficult to do
anything with. (Search for "44 0 obj" then look for the JPEG
magic number and copy to the "endstream".)

My company just inked a deal to be the exclusive (at least for now) US distributor for these cards. They are from the same company that printed them for the Kuwait embassy:

http://www.greatusaflags.com/product_info....h=29&products_id=94

$5.95 for one; $19.95 for four decks. 55 cards in the set.

My question still stands: would someone who has an URL to the big file please share it with us?

Holy crap, there's an ebay auction for these, 1000 page views, over $100, and no mention that they're real or just a print off of the PDF:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2170021109

There's tons more auctions too, some offering to email you the cards, or send them on a CD.

I thought about setting up an auction in the "Featured Plus" section at the top, titled "IRAQI PLAYING CARDS CARD DECK MOST WANTED MAKE THEM FOR FREE DON'T BE A SUCKER!" with a link inside to the PDF, and maybe a "Donate me $1 with PayPal if you appreciate me keeping you from being suckered" button.

But then I thought, "Nah, if they don't read boingboing.net, they deserve it"

I downloaded the small pdf, only to find it contained the following url:
http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Apr2003/pipc10042003.html

This is a nice html version of the cards.

"Would someone who already d/l'd please post a URL?"

If someone wants the entire document, I've got a copy on my ftp server -- just send me an e-mail at brian@carnell.com (don't want to get Fleischman-ed by posting it publicly).

I think those pdf's contain links to the actual page contents. I d/l'd the smaller, and each time I paged down in Acrobat (in my browser), there was a looong pause, and the status bar said it was downloading data.

Umm, there's no longer any big downloads on that page.

There's a small and large version of the playing cards, at 27 and 704 kb .pdf files.

Would someone who already d/l'd please post a URL?

These aren't very provocative, if they're going to be on playing cards they could at least wear something skimpy.
