So it seems that another one succumbs to the pressures of the sicko cyber stalker. Too bad. You fell for his vacuous threats of legal action.

It seems that the page is back up. Thanks. E-mail me for further information.

Hey, Hardy, what error are you getting? I'm getting a time-out error when I try to connect to www.craphound.com.

When I do a traceroute, I end up with:

 24 gw.it.ca [216.126.94.82] reports: Destination host unreachable.

which suggests that his ISP is having problems, or his server is down. Why do you assume it's due to "pressure"?

I took a look at Google's cache of the page, and it looked pretty innocuous (though Google doesn't cache images).

Cory,

Why has the link to http://www.craphound.com/bag/ gone dead? Has someone been putting pressure on you?

Griffin confesses:
"I feel boingboing banged, and it feels good,"

Cory,
Would it be too much to ask that the next guy you tag for the sidebar undergo some sort of examination to determine that he actually possesses a penis?

This guy reminds me of the Vagina Monoblogs.

Cory has a posse? (yeah yeah i know... cory the giant has a posse; obey. Not my point.)

Cory has a cabal?

Cory has cronies, yeah that I agree with.

I kinda already thought of the 'blog scene' as cliquey self-congragelatory and well.. trite, but useful for links to interesting OUTSIDE sites.

I don't think i can handle the warm glow of your egos any longer though... I may as well just go read the pages boingboing gets its links from anyway.

I've often found it curious how different the spam I get at my various accounts can be. Of course one's that I post to public mailing lists from that are archived on a webpage get harvested, and it also varies by what kind of other web based forums and what not it's used for.

My primary fear is that someone will make an email address harvester that is javascript aware, as javascript is needed to follow links into many blog comment systems (I otherwise loathe javascript, and avoid using it like the plague myself on webpages I build, and hate other aspects of how it screws up my browsing and posting in those same blog comment systems).

Quicktopic, being near unto the holy grail of comment systems, makes javascript use purely optional. (and boingboing's use of the non-javascript version of quicktopic links, actually makes me more likely to click on discussions to see how many posts there are on a topic. Had they chosen to go with the evil javascript version [which I'm not suggesting they would have :-) ] it would list the number of posts on a topic, making them less likely to take off due to a negative feedback effect).

I personally probably would have made up a new email address for purposes of posting to a high profile site like boingboing as a contributer, I find that that generally makes keeping things organized easier (this address is for evil website registrations, this one is for family only, this one I use on comment boards, etc.)

Email filtering on your own vanity domain where all of the addresses at the domain goto one box which is then sorted by your mail program is one way to do that, another more cumbersome way is of course to use an actaully seperate account for each purpose (i.e. a different free web mail system account for each).
